To be brief...We had ANOTHER death occur in my family. My mom passed away a month ago (thanks to those who sent condolences..though I didn't make it public).
This morning at 3:30am, my Brother in law, Rod passed away. He had a major stroke about 8 months ago...and never fully recovered. His having diabetes didn't help the situation, either. He was 56.
Rod was a great brother in law...he was the one to talk to my wife and I about the situation with my daughter when she was critically ill...whether to put her on a Do Not Resusitate list...he was there for us through all of the rough times! I was able to visit him in his hospital room when we went out for my moms memorial service.
Rod was a car guy, too! When my sister first married him, he had a really cool blue 1968 SS 396 Chevelle with a 4 speed and vinyl top. Before they were married...he raced a supercharged Corvette at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, Ca.
Sorry for the downer message but I thought since he was a car guy...you'd like to know. Too bad that he never got a ride in my Chevelle...he would have loved it http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
He was a "big" guy but was a softy at heart. Rest in peace, Rod!
