They are still in business...go here: Don Steves Chevrolet (http://www.donsteveschevrolet.com/)

[ QUOTE ]
Don & Ellie Steves started Don Steves Chevrolet in 1952. The tiny dealership was located on La Habara(sp) Blvd. just East of Euclid. The showroom had room for only one car. Don was the "Sales Staff" and Ellie was the "Office Staff."

Don Steves Chevrolet today, in its third location, boasts over 70 employees and is still owned and operated by the Steves family

Hey Scott...I went by the dealer yesterday evening...and they still use the metal plate frames...If they would have been open...and I wasn't on my way to a funeral, I would have stopped and got you one. I'm now back in Phoenix...where it's 115 degrees now! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Let me know how things work out. They should be able to send you one or two for the cost of postage. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Don Steves Chevrolet also sponsored Dave McDonald when he drove solid-axle Corvettes in the early '60s, before he was hired to drive Cobras for Shelby American. McDonald and another driver went back to the factory and drove two early production '63 Corvettes back to California to be converted to race cars. I think the cars were sponsored by Don Steves Chevrolet?

Don Steve's Chevrolet also sonsored Don Nicholson's '61 409 Impala and Dan Gurney's '61 & b'62 409 cars as well. Don Steve's also sold (2) 1963 Z-11 427 Impala's new. Richard Sironion (John Mazmanian's nephew) ordered one and went to Tom Sturm and the other was a guy by the name of Lee Ellis whom I never heard about.
