Upgrading Interior

Does it detract from the car if you swap out standard interior for houndstooth or increase the value even though its incorrect?

I think it might detract only in making people be suspicious about what else might have been changed on the car. As far as value, it's a crap shoot - to someone who really loves the houndstooth interior, it would be more appealing.
