If Phil Guilbault is able to get a trailer, we may, for the first time ever have all the Yenko deuce colors together. There's an outside chance that may also happen with the four colors of the Gibb cars. The folks from the local chapter, Eastern Iowa, have worked hard to make this a fun event for everyone. We hope to see you there.

Having all 8 colors together will be a major event, (could've happened last year at SCR7, but this guy with the sunflower yellow car..... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) It is theorized that that all 8 colors were never together at Yenko SportsCars in '70. That is because of the spring colors going to Hurst, and no beige, dark green, or silver cars were in the second order. Alan recalls that Colonial Chev. had all 8 colors at one time, we'd love to have a pic of that!

Records show that Colonial was the only dealer to sell at least one Yenko Deuce in each color. Fencl Tufo was close with at least one in 6 colors - unless we find out later that they sold a silver and a blue.

What's the best day to go,if only one day was possible to attend?
I figure 3&1/2 hours on I-80 to 380,so I'm aiming for it.

Rick-I plan on going as well. Maybe we can pool it. Friday real early, drive back afterwards?? Is there a swap meet at this evant?

Schonyenko2
07-19-2005, 07:43 AM
There should be around 30 vendors, from Chevy ll only, and J&W to some mom & pop swapers.(not that kind of swapping).I checked with the owner of the red Gibb car today to see if it would be ready, but sounds like it won't be, so we won't get all the Gibb colors. It does sound like that could happen at the reunion though.
Hey, it wasn't just yellow last year. We were missin silver too.

Are both days comparable,or is one day heavier then the other in attendance/parts/cars?

If you can only make one day, I'd say Friday would be it.

I arrived this morning to 65 degree weather and rain. Good thing the show has not started yet. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

If you have to pick one day make it Friday.

I plan to have the Nova Research tent set up (if it gets here). Everyone is welcome to use it to get out of the sun or just a place to hang out. I will be out taking pictures most of the time.

I will be taking pictures of all of the 3rd gen cars (and other years as I get time), so if you have any special requests let me know. I know Tom Williams can get custom posters of your car. Let me know and I'll shoot the photos for it.

Wish I was there to enjoy the fun and sun. Spoke to Wayne today and he said the turnout was good. Glad to see Helen is bringing the COPO car and with all those Deuces and other great cars it should be a super event. Hope everyone has a good time and safe travels.

Anyone in the area of Cedar Rapids needs to swing by and take a look. Tons of neat cars, with a special "supercar display". Several Dueces in all colors (almost), with my '69, Ray's '68 along side and HG's '68 upfront.

Marlin will be doing a seminar on Yenko and the Deuces at 10am this morning. Several os us have reserved front row seats so we can help him out a little. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

The NNN and the local Nova club have done a masterful job of hosting this event, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif
