Hmmmm, that Orange hood with white stripes looks familiar. Too bad I had to sell that car last year to put the money into my JL8 car. I'll probably stop down to talk to some of the Camaro guys. Sam, you should get in touch with Kevin W and have him hold a spot for you. I'll be limping down in my 88 4Runner if the clutch decides to hold up for me.

I'll be there, but car crap won't be interested in my ride. No fake blower, tubs or roll cage.

Hey Jeff, are you a fossil? how do I get ahold of him? If I can get the L78 registered and Insured by then Ill bring that up...Dangerous place for me,I might come home with more than I came with http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

What are you bringing so I can look you up, they are saying to get there before 2 for a spot? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif How many cars do you think will be there?

Verne_Frantz
07-23-2005, 07:26 AM
Normally on a fair weather evening they hit 2000 cars. Since car crap will be there, maybe less....

I guess I'll just drive my old beater '62 convert. Nothin' special. I won't there till after 6.

Still not painted yet. I've got all my savings from the last 7 years tied up in this car. It's a painfull process when you don't have the resources.

I hear you, parts are not getting any cheaper either, how far along are you and do you have update photos?

Sam, Jeff, Verne, I am here. I don't check in here as often as TC (every 2 days, vs every 3 hours on TC http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif).
Anyway, Let me know if you are coming with what car (To spot you driving in) and what time and I will try to save a spot. It is getting harder each year to save the good spots, but I will try.

Steve, are you going to trailer the hemi down and park it at my place (about 5-7 miles away from to outlets)? I am not going to be able to make the august or sept cruises, so this is the last one for me this year.

njsteve
07-24-2005, 07:59 PM
I am thinking about driving the hemi down there. I just don't have the energy to load up, drive down, unload and reload in the dark. So I guess I'll do what they did in the old days...just drive the damn thing and carry a big tool box in the trunk and stop 3 or 4 times for gas along the way. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I think its about 60 miles from me? What's the easiest route in from 295/195 and what time should I get there?

Steve,
Take 195. There's an exit marked for the Jackson Outlets. The place is only about a couple hundred yards on the North side of 195.

Thanks for the offer but you'd better not try and save me a spot. I'll probably get there late. No sense in tempting raised tempers over a good parking spot.

KevinW
07-25-2005, 01:08 AM
Verne, OK, but still let me know what you are driving, so I can say hi!

Steve, Jackson Outlets is just off 195 on 537, exit 16 I think. The address is 537 Monmouth Road, Jackson NJ 08527. If you get there by 6:00 or earlier, I should be able to hold the spot. It looks like it is 47 mile from flemington, so 60 miles for you is close. I would leave your place by 4:30 to get there by 6:00. There are gas stations (a sunoco, and a generic) right past the outlets, so you can gas up to get home. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There are a lot of variables that would affect the value of such an original car - HP rating, model and other options, and especially condition. There's a lot of range there.

I live 5 min away and it is clear and hot here! Car is ready and I am going in the pool! weather channel radar shows rain is in delaware and moving east. That will miss us. Still a chance of T-storms popping up because it is so hot and humid. Well, that is what they make wipers for! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif See whomever comes tonight, stop by and say hi! I will have small Team Camaro logos around the cars.

Sam, nice meeting you.
Verne, sorry we missed you.
Steve, sorry I didn't get back in time from looking for Verne to see you off, hope you arrived home OK. How was the trip back?

Very crowded! Hours of the cruise are from 6-9pm, reportedly the first car there was a vette at 9:00am http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I was there at 3:15 and it was loaded with cars already. Nice night too, weather was perfect.

Steve's Hemi was a hit, it always had a crowd around it. Car Craft spent a good 45 min talking to Steve and taking pics. CC staff said the cruise would be in Jan or Dec issue, which comes out Nov or Dec.

Can't wait for Sam's pics http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Kevin, I emailed you the 4 photos. The trip took about an hour and a half to get home. It took 10 minutes to get out of the parking lot and as soon as I got on I-195 they closed down a lane for construction and it crawled for 2 miles. Once I got through that it only took about 45 minutes to go the rest of the way.

About a mile from my house the Charger reminded me that it doesn't like to drive at night. It has had an electrical glitch for 35 years: the headlight doors slam shut, leaving you in total darkness! -Quite exciting if you're not expecting it! You have to immediately retoggle the headlight switch to open them back up while trying to stay on the road in pitch black darkness at 50 mph. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Great event. It reminded me of a Street Machine Nationals from back in the 70's, only without the annoying drunks!

They built them that way so you could get a few more people on the car to push it due to all the break downs http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Saw another highly detailed one, even had a blacked out tailpan http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Must of been one of those rare big block z's http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Sam, you must have missed the ultra rare 327 Z/28. Had the 327 emblems right on the cowl hood, must have been a real one http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I can put you on the list for the "mule" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif but hope you can wait long enough http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif the way my projects have been going, it is going to be a long while.

Sam I missed meeting you. I was there from 5:15-8:15 and talked to Steve, Kevin, Bruce and Jeff. I think I left at the right time, it only took 1 light to get out and on 195. I also missed the construction work so I was at the bar in Trenton in less than 25 minutes!

My apologies to anyone who wasted their time looking for me. My plans had to change. I needed to be in the shop last night. Had to keep working on a set of AFBs for my buddy's '62 race car. They need to be done for E-town tomorrow. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The candy apple '61 '09 is Ray Lehberger's (sp). That was put together in the mid '90s. He also has a super neat nostalgia drag '61 '09 that looks very much like Nicholson's. Wish he would have brought that for everyone to see. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Man, I wish I had known that the car show was going to start so early; I would've stopped by on my way home from the F.A.S.T. race at Englishtown. This show looks like I would have enjoyed it more than the race I went to. Fisrt time to the FAST race at E-Town and was not impressed with the number of cars. For some reason I thought there would have been more cars. The ones that were there were beautiful and very fast; I just expected a larger car show turn out and more cars racing. Oh well, you can't have it all.
