If money was no object and availability wasn't a problem either, what would your collection consist of?................i know what your thinking "ALL OF THEM!!!", just curious as to what your opinion of a great collection might be?. Don't limit it to just GM, but any make, model, year, fun or collector model. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would like to have both a Hemi dart and a ZL1 camaro restored as era correct drag cars, with the ZL1 being a 1970 vintage prostocker, and the Dart being a similar vintage superstocker, both cars would need some kind of 70's funky paintjobs, with correct hardware thoughout.
I would also like to have 1 of 2 "what if" cars to use as a daily driver. My first choice would be a plain jane 1974 Camaro{I like the 1 year only factor} built to be exactly how GM would have built it if they had back in 1974.The basic package would be similar to the 455 superduty formula, which means it would have a 4 speed, and 3.42:1 10 bolt with a 9:1 454 with a smog cam, pollution tubes and everything.Under the hood would look like somebody combined a totally correct 74/454 vette with a camaro. The other "what if" would be a 74 firebird{again a 1 year only deal},powered by similarly mild smog era 455 Olds motor and a 4 speed. Most of the engine cues for that car would be robbed form how they did the later 403 cars.Either one makes an interesting'what if" car
And I would have to round it out with 3 restored cars.One would be a 70 Mustang,maybe a Boss 302,or maybe a bigblock car I dont know,the second would be a 70 AMX with a 4 speed.The third would be a near perfect 70 396/automatic Camaro.

So the collection wouldnt be that huge.

Hemi Dart,
ZL1
"What if"F body
Mustang
AMX
Camaro

I might also have a desire to build a 70 duster with a 440 six pack,4 speed and Dana 60 and dress it to look exactly like it left the factory that way.

I also wouldnt mind having a really clean late model Mustang convertable just in case they really pick up in value someday.

Ray (GRB) let's hear the story, I'm sure there are several out there - (lot of wealthy people with the desire for a "money no object muscle car). I would think Jay Leno's Toronado was one of them.

Just one:

Black 66 SS with Red bucket seat interior, 4 speed, prefer 360hp or 375hp, any options after that are negotiable. Oh and done to the highest of levels of correctness. The BEST!

Problem is not money.. just finding one. and have no desire to build another.

Donut - I posted that last nite after a great martini and an even better Cuban. That same euphoria is not quite with me this AM. But, I will tell the story soon. Has to do with getting carried away with power and the fact that I proved that you can have too much HP (at least I can) and it ruins an otherwise great car.

Lets add a twist...........What would be in your collection REAL OR NOT?.........or, What would you have built if you were the designer back then?, and....If you could build your own supercar today what would it be?

MYSTERYCHEVELLE

original engine/drivetrain would not bother me for this car, My gotta have it on any car is always more than original drivetrain, it's a QUALITY top notch, make ya drool over restoration.

If you can find one with original drivetrain and the above.. a BONUS!!

The 66 or 67 L-78 I am currently looking for must have original drivetrain, but the color specs don't matter., here we are just talking about dream car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would buy GM and turn it into a real car company with cars people would actually want to buy and drive http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I would hire Charley to manage the mechanical and drive train, Marlin would run research,The Clary's would test drive,Kim would be in charge of shipping and transportation, Lynn would handle fraud and scams, Rita would wear a string bikini and be the model and my personal secretary,Colin would run sales and insurance claims,Jeff Murpy would handle overseas operations on a temperarily basis while he is there, and Bob Belair would be head bartender and mixoligist. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
