Blue LS-6 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Chevelle-LS6-1970-CHEVELLE-454-LS6-19-400-ORIGINAL-MILES_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6164QQitemZ456672 1018QQrdZ1#ebayphotohosting)
Wondering if anyone knows this car? How about Classic Restorations out of Phoenix? I recently moved from Phoenix and don't recongnize it. Claims to be numbers matching and low mileage car. Reasonably well documented but I can't really read some of the documentation (delivery sheet). A number of incorrect but fixable items, starting with the obvious, the tach, paint around the turn indicators, master cylinder, no smog, plastic screens above the cowl, liberal use of water, the rarely seen stealth battery. No underside shots. What else am I missing? Needs some work but seems to be....

i did see that car on ebay yesterday and thought it was pretty sharp but some of the claims in the ad are a bit much in my opinion

Interesting discussion going on over at Team Chevelle (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98993) about this car.

"No need to rush out and buy one though, they'll build more."
I especially like the above quote from that discussion!!

Someone wasn't afraid to pony up for this one

Provided it actually sold, would this be a high water mark for a hardtop?

No, the 26 original mile Cranberry Red went for approx $350K if I remember correctly.
The Diamond Restored one in the above link that Desert Auto Sports just sold (again) is a impressive piece. A friend of mine and I considered buying it but didn't have the extra $125K laying around at the time. That, combined with the little bit of rust around the drain holes of the exhaust caused me to take a pass. Seriously, the one that just sold is a very, very nicely restored car. "The Best in the Country" in their ad is truely arguable.

You know I consider that 26 mile car an anomoly, and can't believe it fetched as much as a ZL1,but hey if you're liquid and dig A bodys that's the one.Excluding that aforementioned car, there seems to be quite a disparity in valuation with LS6's..What about that beautiful forest green 16k all original car that(for lack of a better word)struggled to pull six figures?. If that Phoenix car went for a buck fifty, was this one a deal at 65k?

You could throw 35k at it and still be in it 50k less than that astro blue car..
Other than vert's,a very schizo market to figure out..
If you're going to repeat the $350K selling price on that 26 mile LS-6,then you have to add the next owner sold it later on for $400K on Ebay.
I don't know who paid either of those prices.
That Astro Blue LS-6 that got 150K on Ebay just now,was at Vette-Fest with us in November 2003 & sold for 85K there.
Our own Frank Payne @ Flying A Restoration in Omaha Nebraska performed the resto,I think Frank told me his Son did it.
Now who was it that paid 150K for it? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

They say it had a restoration done, yet the build sheet is still on top of the gas tank http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
Seems kinda strange to me. I still wouldn't mind having it though, but I'm happy with mine http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
