Are the 67-69 door hinges interchangeable?? I see some advertised for one yr only and others for mult yrs. I bought an NOS set of 69 lowers and now not sure they will do for a 68?? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Also looking for a set of 68 upppers as well...

No, there are not interchangable. The attachment points and the way they are attached are different between the years.
Rule of thumb, if the doors look different, the hinges are different.

Rick, I have a complete set of 68 Camaro NOS hinges someplace at home, that I don't think I would ever use. Any idea what a fair price for these would be? Bill D

Bill, let me know what you think is fair...i bought the 69 NOS lowers i mentioned above at 65 each. Would love to have your set for the 68 copo car we are just getting into. Ill sell the 69 ones that i got not knowing they are not interchangable.
Also, would like to talk to you about your 68Z....i just bought one restored.

Bill,
The repop hinges are around $60.00 each and I know you can get at least double that for GM NOS.

67's are 3 bolt mount and 68/9 are 4 bolt mount, but 68/9 look close but I believe they are spaced slightly different if my memory works half a$$ this morning, a quick look in classic Ind catalog and there listed seperate for each year, so if you have part number run it to make sure what you have.

Rick, sure will when i get the yr thing straighten out!! Another source also indicates they are the same 68 and 69....then again..will need to check old part number book unless someone is certain due to experience!!
Ricks First Generation has different part numbers for 68 and 69.

Here is what I looked up. Forget the 67's they are different. 68 and 69 have different part numbers but may work. They are different in appearance. The 69 has a rounded off ends located where the pin goes through and the 68 is more squared off.
The 68 part number calls for 68 Camaro only while the 69 part number calls for 69 Camaro and 68-74 Nova.
I know there is something else but I can't remember right now. When you place the 2 hinges together they look the same but the physical appearance will be obvious.
Confusing huh?

The hinges have stamped numbers on the two pieces. I have some information on them at home and I'll look for it tonight. I'm a CRG member and maybe we need to put together an article on the hinges.

OK, the most difficult part of this job is done, I have found the hinges and it looks like I have more than a complete set, some of them have part number tags still on them. I also found a bunch of other stuff that I forgot I had. If I have time later I will try to take a picture and then see if I can remember how to post it

Thanks Bill, does anyone have the 69RH stampings and the actual part numbers that match each hindge?? This would complete the leg work, now we need to see or know the physical difference from the 68 and 69. Seems some stamped part of the 68 and 69 hinge is the same....??
Again, i assume they will work??
