Just found this one! Heavy embossed metal. Rick Peters says it is a 69 to early 70 plate. How many of you guys have these?

Anyone know how many varients were produced??

I have one. Rick is correct. That slogan was also used on the boxes of some of my 1969 promo models. (Putting You first In a Big Way) was used on some of the boxes on my 1970 promo models. So both are close. I am sure they had plenty left over from previous years that got on the later cars. Sam

I have the '70 "Putting you first in a big way" also. The only differance is the rear - it is a dark green.

Much of the 69 sales dealer literature also had the tag line "Putting you first keeps us first" so it's definitely 1969 and too early for your car. So, to quote Charley, "can I have it?" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Phil... That is a nice peice! I too have the "putting you first in a big way," plate that I bought from Mr. Sam Scardino. It too has a green back side. Really cool look to display an original plate with an original car. I even bought an NOS pair of "#1 Team" plate frames that makes the plate look even better. I'll get some pictures posted.

I think there was a long thread on this about a year ago.

Jason,

Before I started the thread I Looked but I did not find it. Anyway it is a great topic - I would really like to know all the different plates (that are not reproductions) and are still out there for a few bucks - if you know where to look! Post pictures! If no one gets around to it I will post photos of the '70 plate later today.

I talked about this On Here & Team Chevelle last Winter.
I see some misinformation by some, given out about the years ad slogans recently.
I reposted it HERE (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=158080&page=0&vc=1&PHPSES SID=3a2d8141f5f02e7b77e21b7e735bc864#Post158080)

What about it? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gifI would say up to 69.

They were used beyond 69... at least through 1970, and many dealers probably bolted them to the front of new cars even after that.

Probably depended on how many were laying around and what Dealerships got the "NEW" Chevy slogans first.

Each dealer seemed to have personalized the USA-1 plate.

The Wagoner uses brighter colors and is embossed.

The Clark plate is non embossed and darker in color. Both of these are originals.

Rick,
I have a couple plates a vendor gave me in recourse to settle a bad deal on something else. He claimed they were legit. I'll get my neighbor to shoot them and I'll email them to you for your opinion. If anyone will know, I know you will...
In fact, I think they were hanging on the wall in the shop the day you picked up the Motion sign.
Maybe you remember?? I know you were pre-occupied with a big pink box sitting outside at the time......

Hmmm...could it be a copy of the My Classic Car episode of the Motion Cars owned by Mr. Mc Michael on DVD? I like the 5 o'clock in the morning rushed printing...sheesh! What was I thinking? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I have one! It was on the 69 427 Camaro when I bought it from its 2nd owner from Ohio! Hangs on my wall in the shop.
