Question, A friend of mine has plain jane 69 307 camaro. This car has the dual exhaust hanger plate. Question is, could you get a 307 with dual exhaust or is maybe his car is something else?
I thought those plates were only on SS and Z/28's (also copo's). http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

Dual exhaust was standard on SS & Z28 (& COPO 9560/9561). Base V8 motors (327ci & 307ci both w/2bbl) and optional V8 motors LM1 (350ci/255hp w/4bbl) and L65 (350ci/250hp w/2bbl) came standard with single exhaust. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Question is, could you get dual exhaust on these low horsepower engines and would they have the exhaust bracket welded in, according to Kurt at Camaro research you could, Ive never seen a 307 with this plate, as a matter of fact I never seen them on anything but a Z/28 or SS but if dual exhaust was an option I guess the plate would be there.. If you ordered an LM1 camaro with optional dual exhaust would it come with a welded in exhaust plate?http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif I know alot people look for these plates to assume an authentic SS or Z/28 and if its not there there is a major problem.

I have had a few 307-327 2bbl cars with the plate welded on the frame also i believe they are scarce but they were ordered with the duel exhaust setup.I also noticed that the early cali cars the plate was about 1/2 in shorter in size..

Yes, that is correct.
That plate can appear on any low-po other than L6 cars. I've seen them on LM1's, 307's, etc....
