Saw an ad in a trader magazine for a '84 Motion Camaro. Claimed it to be 1 of 3. Did Motion still do cars in 1984?

Yes they did. Motion did a whole bunch of later 70s cars and even some early 80s GM cars too. Of the cars that are still around include Mustangs, Monte Carlos and Iroc style Camaros all from the early to mid 80s. JoeG can help even more....

Motion was doing Hi-PO mods on cars into the early 90's--They were into the Gran-Nationals--since this was the only killer car coming out of the factory---Motion had a test Mule GN---I don't know who has this now---

I'll tell you what, if I had built something like that in the eighties, it would take a $1500 fee for me to own up to it also. Who can honestly say that they would love to be seen in this car. Really. This car truly represents the dark days of Motion.

I do not think it was the dark days of Motion, but the dark days of the 80s. Since Motion was not manufacturing cars for GM they had to work with what was produced. That Camaro fits the 80s too perfectly.

I guess I'll have to agree with you on that. The car does conjure up images of string Bolo ties, Flock of Seagull cassette tapes, mullet hairstyles and lowered mini-trucks. We all thought that these things were cool back then but they are laughed at now. What are we going to think about these new "tuner cars" like Hondas, Toyotas, and even the GMMG Supercars in 20 years? Maybe they will appear silly and dated in 20 years compared to the offerings in the future. Sure, they're fast and look cool now, but let's see if they stand the test of time like the 60's era cars. Seriously speaking though, has a 1969 Z/28 Camaro ever been considered outdated or out of style. I don't think so.

I grew up in the next town over from Motion and remember seeing the yellow car. Even then I was not a big fan. It looked like the entire Motion catalog was on the car. I also remember the GN, that thing was an animal.

To put things in perspective though, I drove past the old Motion shop today. There was a red Civic tuner car parked in front with doors that open straight up, a fiberglass hood and an exhaust that could have been "18 wide (ok, maybe not that big, but you get the idea).
