looking into buying car from Rhode Island that does not have vehicle titles on pre 71 vehicles . Looking for help anyone bought car this way ,what does it take to change ownership to the purchaser to his state which issues titles , owner states bill of sale is all you need ?
Bought a car from Ga., needed a bill of sale and a current registration.After that it was pretty simple.

Generally not an issue to be concerned about IMO. More and more States are not issuing titles after 10 or 15 yrs., so it's not something to be raising eyebrows about. You need to contact the DMV of YOUR STATE to ask their procedure for making this smooth. I have purchased two 66 SS's from CT without CT Title and had no problem in PA.. just needed a Bill of sale. I also did same with a 66 SS I got out of Baton Rouge to PA... Call your DMV.

I'd like to know how you found out about the car, what is some of the history, etc..... every neat car has an interesting story, like a good biography.
