Yeah, what about a 66 427/450HP Vette or an L88. Their 1/4 times were as quick or quicker than those listed.

That's one of the worst magazines I've ever read in my life. Absolutely terrible. The black '63 Bel Air lowrider takes up God only knows how many pages and there's even talk about 66-7 Novas being affordable....except the for the big block versions. Yeah, show me a factory Rat-motored 66-7 Nova. Don't even get me started on that Top Ten Fastest List.

I think an L-88 owner or twenty might be a-kickin-some-booty
over that list. Does this rag, ( err. mag. ) even know what
a COPO car is? One or two should have made that list.

I want some of whatever that guy who put that list together is smoking. Don’t get me wrong, I
think the 67 SS-427 Z24 cars are absolutely gorgeous but “No Way” does it make the Top 10
Fastest. Top 50 MAYBE!!!! Not the top 10...

I don't think a 61 SS 409 was exactly a dragon slayer...very cool though.

I think somebody will have to rethink this list. Also, in the next few weeks (as soon as the first one is delivered) the new 2006 Z06 Corvette should top the list. Auto week had it at 11.70 @ 125 mph on street tires and exaust!

I have mine on order and can't wait. For me it looks like a April to June due date.

Have to agree with Mark. I will give them credit for the attempt. However, in fairness, there is no really reliable data base from which to compile such a list. All tests were done differently. Biggest variable, especially for those on street tires (bias ply?) would be driver skill. Anyway, it is more fun to argue.

Jeff, Thanks for letting me know what mag., you got, I'll check my bookstores to see if they have one. I agree with the other guys, some other cars have been left out, overlooked, or whatever, why don't you set up a vote for everyone to pick out there top 10....... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif.....Kasey

Any time any magazine makes a "Top 10 (or whatever number) Fastest" list it creates a firestorm of controversy http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I think they just like to get people worked up http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Exactly Bill.
And it makes people pick up that issue and read it,and increase their sales, and get letters posted in next months issue to complain, which makes readers pick up that issue and read it,which increases sales...which is what all this was meant to do in the first place.

geez, if it's not the Mopar guys telling me a Corvette isn't a muscle car, now it is magazine editors telling me the Vette isn't even a Chevy....... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
