I was looking at a 70 Nova that I might buy and the documentation said the paint code was a 1001PA.The firewall tag had 2 lines were the paint code usually is with no numbers. The owner was not sure but was told that it was a paint delete code were a customer could get a car in primer or another corporate colour not listed for that vehicle. The Nova was a light Le Mans type blue that I had never seen on a Nova before. He said it was the colour they found under the trim when the car was painted but it was not a listed optional paint for that car.Anyone ever heard of this.
Thanks.

I have a few sheets showing "PA" code, among others.
I asked Jim M. awhile ago what these Paint Pricing codes meant & his response was:

"The code "1734AA" would be the paint code for one of the
approved National Fleet Accounts. This code would dictate
the color used and pricing for the account. All paint codes
with "AA" were no charge items.

The other special paints that you have listed used colors that
were either available on other models, or used for other years.
The pricing would also be dictated by the number of units that
were ordered in these colors.

It has been a long time since I've needed to recall these pricing
codes. However, it is my recollection that 1001HA was a
$75.00 charge and that 1001PA was a $25.00 charge."

Special paint code. No completed Camaro, Nova, or Chevelle left the plant without paint.
