Hi, I'm new to this board. I have a 76' Cutlass that is my project car. It runs but needs lots of love. The interior needs to be done and it has a lot of sun rot on the moldings. This is the first car that I ever bought the progress is slow but comming along. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Welcome to the site Ms Martinez!
As you can see, some of the users 'round here are perpetual jokers............... but they don't bite!
Many members on this website have extensive knowledge about 1960/70 built GM cars. Don't be afraid to ask questions. In time, someone should be able to help. In any case, have fun with your 76 Cutless project.

My first car was a '76 Cutlass S. It was silver with red leather interior. Console and swivel bucket seats. I yanked the straight six and put in a Chevy 454. I miss that car... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I want my car to be as original as possible. My husband was checking it out today, under the hood and it is rigged up bad. Who ever had it before me had speaker wire hooked up to the lights plus there is silicone everywhere. I've got a lot to do. Any one who has any parts for sale let me know. It's a Cutlass California S. I even have the original owners manual and the one that goes to the stereo!

Would parts from a 77 fit?
Bill Pritchard

76 and 77 Cutlasses are pretty similar, so I would think a lot of parts would interchange.

Theresa is that the caulk type of silicone or liquid? If it is the caulk type you need to get the stuff off of your Car ASAP.
That stuff causes the metal to rust and eventually Rot. Silicone Sealer and cars Don’t Mix..

It's blue. My husband said its liquid. It is where the gasket are he said. I'm new to fixing cars up my self so I don't know too much. Bear with me. I checked out that other forum that belair gave a link to. I want to get this car in better driveable condition first and see where we go from there.
