I want to go ahead and get the new rear end for my '68 Camaro right now.

I have a 12-bolt posi with 4:11 gears in it right now. I want to get some sort of straight line lockup rear-end with 4:88 gears... what should I get?

Show & minor driver. Once or twice on the drag strip. A lockup would be too extreme for that kind of use... I'm thinking about the Eaton Posi 4 series, summit part #ETN-19556-010.

That's what I'd recommend...

Is there such a thing as a "quick change" carrier for a 12-bolt rear-end?

The Eaton is good and so is the Moroso Brute Strength. In fact they be the same product in different boxes but don't quote me on that. I think Eaton makes a really cool one with 33 splines that is much stronger than the stock 30 spline but you'll have to change axles. A good idea anyway because then you can then get rid of those C-clip axles that love to destroy rear quarter panels upon axle breakage. Avoid the Auburn carrier. It's well known as weak.
