Scott, where is this seatbelt warning light I've been reading about? I don't know 2nd gen's very well but I get the impression that 70 cars didn't have it but 71 on up did? So that would make this dash/gauge panel not an original 70 panel, correct? Always looking to learn.

I believe that GM seat belt warning lights were first seen in 1972.

u can see the red lens of it in the one pic of the dash pad kinda above the ash tray area.

Fasten seat belt started in 1973.

The car looks so familiar. If it's the car I am thinking of there are a few things wrong with the car but still a nice real Z. I'm not sure but if this is the same car I think it has Canadian documentation as well.

I'll find out more tomorrow.

I think I have it in my '72 Nova SS.
Or maybe it is just a seat belt buzzer?
I have to look on the build sheet.

I remember having to replace this panel and many other parts when an ex wife wrecked a 1970-1/2 Z/28 I had years ago. I remember that GM superceded the replacement part to the later panel with the warning light. If I remember right 1973 or 1974 was the first year that you had to fasten the seat belts to let the car start.

Any explanation why this 70 Z doesnt have rear bumper guards as ALL 70-72 Z-28's should and other Camaros with the VF-3 Deluxe Bumper Option........

Chuck,
As I said above I know this car very well and there a few things wrong with it. Such as the bumper guards, wrong dash, wrong tranny, different carb (original carb was in the trunk when I saw it) and a few little things BUT this car is a real Z. Obviously whoever redid the car forgot or didn't know what the car required.
I do remember seeing the partial VIN stamped by the oil filter and it matched the car.

I have seen some very high dollar 70 Z's being sold lately that are not quite correct either and this car is a good running driver.

Oh yeah, (caveat) I am in no way associated with the selling of this vehicle I am just letting you know what I know of this vehicle because I have gone over this car first hand.

If that's the case then where are the mounting holes on the lower panel for the lower bumper guard mounting holes? Don't tell us. The panel was damaged and replaced or the holes were filled in. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

He probably didn't want to drill the holes and use those damn goofy retainer nutes...

Given that we now have knowledge of a born with engine (VIN on bellhousing flange) it would appear that the $25K pricing might be a deal......and then fix all/any misc shortcomings..........

I don't see any where in the Ebay ad where it mentions that the rear panel was replaced.

Maybe the seller doesn't know the full history. All I know is the car is real and to drill a couple of holes and add the guards is cheap.

I'm surprised it didn't get bid any higher. Looks like a nice car.

Actually the car had met reserve but for some unknown reason the high bidder realized 14 hours later he had entered the wrong amount and retracted his bid. 14 HOURS LATER! Give me a break!!!!!

The way some of these bidders work is http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Sellers don't always put every single description in the ad....but you knew it was wrong so you're that much ahead of him.
