Hello All,
I signed on here awhile back but this may or may not be my first post, either way its been awhile since my last visit. I have the car in the subject and am looking for documentation as the engine block was changed out with a 1969 casting CE stamping. A friend gave me a Baldwin-Motion magazine add yesterday with an SS427 Impala convertible shown. So this got me thinking about the Super-car dealers and if there may be record of any of them selling one of these cars. I'm hoping some of you knowledgable guys can direct me in my search.

Regards
ODDBALL

Terry,
Many of the Supercar dealers did in fact sell some of these cars. Motion did many SS427 Impalas and Biscaynes. I do not know of any converts that were modified by them other then them being sold through the dealer. Most of the cars I have seen or heard about were RPO cars and were sold as delivered since everything was already in place sans headers and traction devices. We barge people get little respect due to our size and nameplate so don't take it too personal. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Try loggin in over at www.impalass427 as well. Ask for Mark as he is the lead guru on the SS427 though I am not sure he has much information on cars such as Baldwin Motion.

Hey Guys, Thanks for acknowleging my question.
"SS427 (Rick)", Mark at the Impalass427 site knows of my car, I've been on his site for sometime now. I wasn't 100% sure the car was a true 425hp car till Mark looked at some photos I sent him and gave the thumbs up on the single fuel line being a 425hp car along with a few other details.
"Belair62", other than the high red line tachometer, and the correct items under the hood I was still unsure till Mark at ImpalaSS427 made the call.
The car is pretty much just as I found it some 8 or 9 years ago. If you care to take a look Mark has it posted in the 1968 section under project cars.

Terry,
Nice project car and a very nice one to start with let alone very valuable. I wish these cars would start getting more of the credit they deserve. They may be large but they are one of the foundations and can certainly hold their own on the street. As an owner of many over the years, they have been fun when coming time to make a point. Welcome again to the site.

Thanks Mr.T for the link.

Belair 62, I was only able to trace the car back to about 1974 or 75 to a long since defunct small used car dealer located in Cincinnati. I talked with the past owner of dealership and he remembered the car but couldn't remember any details on where it came from and of course had no records of its history.

SS427 Rick, thanks for the welcoming to the site I had visited here a few times and found some interesting info, but never even gave it a thought on asking about my car.

Casey Marks, 12,000 miles ??? Just a guess here but 1/4 mile at a time its hard to rack them up !

It's ok Terry, a few of us do the same from time to time just to humor some of these guys. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
