I'm looking for some history on this car before 95. It is purple with a white top and was listed for sale in Hemmings in Sept 95. At that time it had an Iowa license of RARE375. It may have been sold new in KS or NM and may have been painted red at one time. It has since been in MI and used in a GM video in 97 with the new SS. I've tried the numbers in the old ad without success and don't know the name of the owner at that time. I hope someone remembers the car and can provide some info.
Thanks
Phil

I'm almost certain that car was featured in Super Chevy back in the early nineties. Purple L-78's aren't very common and are easily remembered. My magazine collection is boxed up for moving but maybe a member could do a little digging. It was definitly Super Chevy mag while it was still a great magazine.

Probably the same car, I bought it in June. I've made a similar post on Team Camaro.

Check with Coast to Coast Camaros in MI...I think he restored it a few years ago and sold it a while back. It was actually not Royal Plum, but was a very close color from and import. I spoke to the owner a few years ago, but can't remember much more about it. It was also on his web site at the time...

Thanks, what info I have I got from either Richard (Coast to Coast}or Jim (Heartbeat City). Richard can't remember the name of the guy he purchased it from in 95.

There must be 2 Royal Plum L78 convertibles.
The Dec 1988 SC cover car is an RS with Parchment custom interior.
The Coast 2 Coast car is not an RS and has black standard.

Call Kerry Stanley, 1-302-368-3684, and ask him.
I think he found one when he was reaching his 1967 Plum L78 coupe. It seems to me that it was out on the west coast.

Eric you must be thinking of a plane jane plum convt. small block that I've trying to get the guy to let me look at over in New Jersey. When I listed my car on CRG there were about 6 plum 325hp big blocks and my l78. Any body want to take an educated guess as to how many plum L78s coups and convt. there are?

They only installed 1138 L78's in 67 camaros. I'll guess high at 10 percent, or less than 113 in that color.

Duhh didn't read it all. Missed the L78 part.
If you go by the numbers at CRG at approx 3.4% for the color you get about 39 cars. That's rounding up of course.

This came from an article in Muscle Cars-3/91 http://www.yenko.net/attachments/166601-royal.jpg

I was really asking how many we think are left. Sounds like under five and I'm sure there that many that are unknown hidden somewhere
