I am trying to reassemble my 72 Trans Am and am in need of a dent-free reservoir for the power steering pump. Years of prybar initiated fan belt adjustments have rendered this one beyond repair. GM used the same square style pump housing for most of the 1970's. I only need the metal reservoir and not the whole unit, but whatever you have, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks, njsteve

Sounds like a bargain. The last time I traded beer for gear was quite a few years ago. I was on a land navigation course in the middle of the Pennsylvania woods when I noticed I had lost my celphone. Tried to call it with another phone but no reception out there. No way I was gonna find it in the 100 square miles of pine trees...ever. So I thought I'd have some fun: I called out on the radio and offered 2 cases of beer to the guy who finds the phone. That was a big mistake. Within 5 minutes a buddy of mine found the phone under a fallen tree I had climbed over and I was out for two cases of the most obscure (read expensive) German beer I had ever seen.

I think a new phone would have been less expensive. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

need to look in the other garage..had about a dozen there...this may be a Pontiac only thing..the ones I have here the low press line makes a "S" of sorts and parallels the reservoir, and yours hooks around and under...

keep it iced until SCR9..if that turns out to be a real oddball deal you may have to transfer that hardline to another housing... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hey Steve...check these two things out:

Pontiac auto parts (http://www.billionsandtrillionsinc.com/pontiac.asp)

Check item #279...NOS? It says that the P/N for the power steering pump is 7811290(and it fits all models)...and it looks like they have one. Maybe worth a call?

I checked out the ebay one: dented according to the seller. As for the NOS one, the guy sold it about a year ago. Nice of him to update his site. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks for looking out for me though!
