The Mayor of Iowa just emailed me for my thoughts on what we should do with BBBennys L78 fathom green nova thats getting ready for final assembly. Well, we put our heads together and came up with a nice list of day-2 items to be installed. I told Benny that one trailer queen (his COPO) is enough so get with the program. Any ideas to wake this fathom green L78 nova up in day-2 is appreciated. Just give us your ideas! Come on Don White (lets do those headlites), Frank Arone, Darren, Frank Magallon, Kenny P. etc! Thanks. How about some nice Ansen Slots, white lines in the front with M/T black walls in the rear. Powder coated white headers with a Torqer II intake. Couple of Lakewood Yellow Traction Bars, Finned rear cover and Grant wood wheel. Cannot forget a nice set of complete Sun Green line gauges to match the green paint.

Hey Darren, Benny told me he is willing to use some of my vintage decals on his quarter windows just like 1970. Says he wants to make this nova look like a legit B/Stocker in its racing days. I know Pete is building him a semi killer motor so look out the Lehighton Flash is coming 4 speed and all! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Reading the lists of "do nots" reminded me of the 1970's and 1980's, when you saw some really cool musclecars, but the owner thought it was a good idea to install a sunroof! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Dave... I was pretty impressed by its untouched (original owner car) status that I did not take any pictures of the outside. The owner traded in the original cragars and M/T rubber for some modern BFG Radial T/A and new style S/S Wheels. Those are the only shots of the car I have. It was a tri-power car with a lot of chrome under the hood. The same Sun Blue line gagues he has on the cowl area are found under the hood too. The windows were decorated with drag racing stickers. I tend to believe those were added at a later date because they looked mint/new or nos. The owner had a display of articles from the car's history and he claims he just brought the car back from the garage. Its been in for 20+ years. Post the pictures you've got. I might have a contact to the owner.

Damn, I just pm'ed Sam this morning to crank on Benny a little. Didn't think it would end up a thread. Anyone at vettefest this weekend is welcome to take a little 2.75 hour ride and see the car. Just give me a pm first so I'm around, although I think I may have a new grandbaby around that time.
Darren, she has a SS hood, although the stinger is something I'm going to do on something of mine one of these days.
Either cragers, or slots would be cool, and I do like those new Raidirs. The 15x8s would look cool, but we better think airshocks, and extensions. Redlines would be a nice touch with the cragers.
Anyway, she's come a very long way. Have benny show you the in process album someday. Only the will you understand how far.
Keep the ideas comin, and I'll try to get some pics to Rob to post.

Here are some cool pictures Dave sent me of a Day 2 original owner Nova from my area in Lyons, IL. I hear that the car is still in this condition and still with the original owner but has not seen the light of day in decades. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
