I recently sold my 71 Chevelle on this site, in one day. If I wanted to peak interest in a car this expensive (even if it's an LS-6 El Camino) I would give a detailed explanation, paper work, option list and pics. I've passed over many ads that were poorly written and had no pics. I would also expect to waste a certain amount of time with tire kickers.

Additional info for those or anybody Interested. I purchased this EL-Camino 2 years ago too go with my Black 70 Chevelle SS. I bought it at a car lot in Terra Hute,in. The Dealer gave me a history of Previous Owners back too 1972. I talked too the second and third owner too Verify Original Equiptment. When I bought the car it had a 454,4 speed and the Factory Original 4:10 12 Bolt Posi. I found out threw previous Owners that the Original Engine had been Removed in 1975 or 1976. The third Owner bought it from the Second Owner who was his Boss. The third owner did not want the Original 454 LS-6, since he Planned on Building another Big Block later. The Original Engine sat in the second owners body shop for about a Year. The guy I bought the Motor from had it in his shop for 28 Years till I bought it.

To Continue, The motor sat in his shop for 28 years till I called him about it.I told him that I would like too buy the Original Motor too put back in the EL-Camino. He agreed and Gave me all the Numbers and Casting numbers. All the Numbers and Codes Matched The EL-Camino too a TEE. I rebuilt the Motor and Reinstalled it. I also had too put in a Correct M-22, since The Original one was Missing. The Car is Equipped,P.S., P.D.B.,One Repaint too The Original Black, White Stripes Which are Original on Cowl Induction Hood. Black Bench Seat, Tilt Wheel,Front Bumper Gaurds and SS Wheels. No Factory Tach or Gauges.
Thanks for any Interest.

Mike, do you have any paperwork on the car - POP, buildsheet, etc? Also, is the original engine stamp and VIN still on the motor and, if so, can you email or post a pic of that please? Thanks http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

FWIW, Dan Carr at Team Chevelle has estimated that there were a total of 540 LS6-equipped El Caminos built in 1970. 344 manuals and 196 automatics.

Mike, a number of people, myself included, have asked you questions in this thread to determine if we are interested, but you have not responded (not to me anyway). If you are serious about selling the car, you might want to answer our questions about the drivetrain and docs http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I took the freshly rebuilt LS6 engine apart to verify that it had never been decked and that the broach marks were consistent across the deck. The original engine is .030 over and will be back in the car by this weekend.
I don't have any good pics of the trim tag, but it is not a repro and coded 19 19 and for a black bench interior.
The factory original 4 speed tunnel has not been hacked up.
There are no factory docs for this car.
The LS6 is scheduled for Auction Monday, Memorial day, at the Mecum High Performance auction.
Reserve is $70,000.00.

We will have a many cars available for less than $75k. I can think of one at $5,000.00 and another @ $7,000 and a couple more at under $15k. The Shelby, Boss 429, Copo and Yenko as well as a few others will probably bring more than $75k.
There will be many very nice cars running on Monday. I'll bet there will be some very good buys as well!

I can remember when an unrestored car with original drive train and full owner history meant more than a piece of paper or an aluminum tag.
The LS6 has a new home.
