A while back I posted pics of a Magazine article about a Dick Landy Heme Car that was sent here as part of a pair of Hemi cars, one a street car the other full racecar.
Heres part of the Mag article and below it are some pics I got copies of of the car when it was found and then recently with it being reunited with its racecar brother; cars are waiting to be restored.

Unbelievable photos! How does such a neat car end up like that? I love the rear shot of the Challenger. It's got some serious rubber goin' on back there.

Both of these cars owner also was the one that brought over the Motion cars, Street and Ribbon http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif He left this street hemi in the field and went onto raceing cig boats. The Hemi Cars were brought over after the Motion cars.

The other Motion car was a street car that was given away because the then owner (who kow owns the Landy cars) got tired of moving it every time he moved. When he gave it away it was already just a rusted shell and the guy cut it up to make 2 other street cars so the rear end went one way and the drivetrain went went another. The rest of the car slowly returned to mother earth.

[/ QUOTE ]Thats exactly what I was thinking. Who would leave a car like this in a field? And who would believe anybody knowing it would leave a car in the field that long! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif Do you ever think how many of these rare cars would not need half the extent of restoration if most people would take care of them even a little bit. I never left a car in the field or abandon anywhere in my life. Why would anybody park a car in their back yard or field and just leave it there? If it is that bad, junk it. Why leave your yard or home all junked up?

Drugs got the best of the guy and he moved from cars to Cig Race boats. The field the car was found in is a about a 10 acre plot that knowing the location from the first Hawaii owner it was found. Keep in mind there were other cars uncovered before this one was pulled out but nothing of value and theres still a few left in the same area.

Mind you I am not too proud of this pic but the economy and trying to race full time in SCCA almost every weekend caused me to have to let the white BM vette next to this pickup set with the tires flat for about 3 years in my backyard.
Back in the mid 80's nobody knew what a BM car was. That is why I was able to buy it so cheap. Sure glad I didn't Junk it now...... ("Big Grin)....
