Hello Rick,
Welcome to the SYC site. Maybe I could help you filter out unnecessary communications about your car. Can you give us just a tad more info? Like: Any documentation? What is needed to complete the project? Current pictures? Where is the car located? Where was it sold new? Is the car in the registry?
Humans are curious by nature. If you can provide our wild imaginations with some info you'll probably save yourself and others a bunch of time.
Anyway, good luck and welcome aboard.

Thanks Sam....The car is NOT in the registry, but has documentation and is the real deal. It has sat in the corner of a garage for the better part of 20 years. It also has the numbers matching driveline. If someone is serious about the car they can contact me, but I will not post pictures etc.....Who ever buys it can decide if they want to do that along with posting all the other info...I don't feel it is my place to let the cat out of the bag so to speak......

Does this happen to be the same car that the buildsheet was lost on and there is only a copy?

I would think that with your limited profile info and refusal to post picutres, that you may have a hard time selling it here. Just my opinion.

The car has original documentation not copies and James I don't think you have a clue..........

------By chance was this car owned by a machine shop owner from Thornton Dr. in Hyannis Ma.??? There was a green COPO there that was apart in the mid 90s. I have names and such but you dont seem to want them mentioned.........Bill S

3 posts, 2 of them selling a car and 1 of them telling a member he doesn't have a clue....fill out your profile and at least let us know who you are or the free ad gets pulled...I don't think our members here need to put up with an attitude from someone who just came here to sell something...

Well Mr.Hemi you make a very lousy first impression.jfkheat has a valid opinion and stated it politely (and an opinion I agree with).Maybe you should step back and adjust that attitude a little. After all this website is for "carguy" dicussion not for "top secret"arragant car salesman.Have a nice day.Steve

When I posted this ad I assumed I was posting an ad, nothing more, nothing less...............I took the time to reply to Sam and explain my feelings and logic, because you don't approve or agree is your problem, not mine......... If I wanted to discuss this in the open forums I would have done a "What's this Worth" in your open forum. I have returned EVERY e-mail I have gotten by phone on my dime. If you have questions, send me an e-mail and your phone and I will call you ( Sorry, but if you can't give me your phone number, then as far as I am concerned, you are not serious.......). Is this so hard to understand??? I assumed this was a classified section, not an open forum to discuss what is for sale. The board I frequent does just that ...you post a classified in the classified section, and discuss whatever you want in open forums.......If you want to threaten me by pulling my ad so be it. I felt I met the requirements to post an ad for a legitimate car for sale, not some Internet sham/scam . I would think you would be doing a disservice by pulling the ad so YOUR users might have the chance to purchase a real and very rare car.......Maybe I am mistaken, but with a car of this caliber some buyers DO NOT want the info all over the web it seems you want to impose you beliefs, and could care less what the eventual buyer might not want, or what the seller wants for that matter.........it should be their choice to make, not yours or mine....

So do the Mopar sites let people drop in...slap a for sale ad on an unknown Hemi project car, tell members they don't have a clue and tell the people who run the board how they should interpret their for sale guidlines ? Doubtful. There are a lot of guys who aren't exactly on the up and up with these cars. I'm sure the Mopar community has it's cloners, rebodiers, people who sell rebodies without disclosing, fake docs, made up BS stories about history etc...we just try to sift thru it here beforehand so people won't get burned anymore...a rebodied COPO Chevelle was sold not too long ago and it wasn't a happy ending...it wasn't Fathom though so thats good ! Hope its a great car and hope it goes to a good home too.

1. If it sounds to good to be true.
2. If the seller can't explain it.
3. If you can't understand it.
THEN DON'T BUY IT!!!

Didn't start off too well Rich. Pretty good find for someone looking to get a COPO Chevelle.

Rich, Since you know that car and you posted "Real Paperwork etc!!) maybe you can shed some light on the paperwork. I take it that would mean all GM paperwork and thus not needing any outside Certification? Also $60K open wouldnt be a bad deal at all

Was the rebody a black one???

Steve I heard of a black rebody with certification but thats another story and should be a different thread altogether. Lets keep this one on the subject car that the topic is about.

This sounds like a neat car to start with MOF...I think we just got off on the wrong foot...just didn't think it was all that great to tell ole JFK he was clueless...the car itself sounds interesting...

This site is turning into a total mockerey of Supercars advertised on this site. People that have NO interest in the car and then end up turning a SUPERCAR post to trash talking GARBAGE..I use to love this site but there is SO MANY NEW members that seem to have nothing better to do but turn EVERY topic into TRASH !!!! I have over 20 Supercars for sale and you dont see one on this site. I feel sorry for the TRUE collector(buyers)that will never know about these cars.Im not going to watch a Supercar post turn into a women eating pussy topic !!!!!! I apoligize to the REAL MEMBERS on this site for this post but this has turned into GARBAGE !! People tell me this ALL the time about this site and I defend the site but this post is a prime example of a killer car turned ugly.
I think I will post 86 Silverado Pick-ups and we ALL will be right at home !!! Sorry to the REAL MEMBERS here !!!

Actually Bob, the thread didnt become off topic until after the car was sold. So basically if you read each post and were interested in the car you would have seen this post and not find it necessary to keep reading about other activities. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif [ QUOTE ]
