I heard a Lemans Blue 69 Vette went a 10.59 ET today in E-town. I left at 6:oopm and the lanes were still full of cars. Great turnout and perfect weather. I'm sure someone will post the results later

Thats probably using an old Truppi-Kling motor from the SS days! Stock appearing.....Right!

That Vette sounds way more radical than any stock appearing 69 Vette than I've ever heard. Big Cubic inches + very lumpy cam + stock tire = 10.59?

I saw COPO Pete too and he was running very strong and close to winning the event when I left E-town.

Where were you Sam? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well I spent almost a week back and forth to Vettefest so I had to stay home and play house. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Anybody hear how Pete and JJ did? With Wayne running so well 10.59 at 130+ we should hear some more belly aching about fiberglass produces on the other websites.

Got the skinny tonight! JJ ran an 11.58 at 122 and Pete a new best of 11.74 at 117. To back it up he also had an 11.78 pass. Congrads guys on running big numbers. Just some more times for the Mopar camp to brew about over the winter.

It was a perfect day.
Great weather and the turnout was super ....,45 Factory Stockers, 21 F.A.S.T cars and 42 Show cars & 25 MCE cars or so....over 125 cars participated in the event. Most everyone had a good day. LOTS of spectators, over 250 I was told.

I just wanna thank all you guys who came out yesterday, especially TransAm Glen, Greg Gessler, Goatless, Ralph and the other guys who helped promote the event in their area. Rob and Art did a great job at the show tent, handing out giveaways and prizes, Plaques, T-shirts etc. We may have the bargaining power for a full 2-day event next year. The owners of Raceway Park told me personally "we are blown away by the turnout". This is a day where it was below freezing in most spots in the early morning. Hemmings was there and got alot of great magazine material. George from Hemmings is a down to earth muscle car guy and loved the event. I think F.A.S.T can only get bigger as a result of this. The F.A.S.T lanes were packed with fans, mobbing the participants as if they were rock stars at times. Several new F.A.S.T. ET records were set as well as many personal bests as well.

Thanks also to Dave Dudek, Wayne Nelson,Terry Pennington, Jimmy Johnston & Pete Simpson for making the long trip & supporting the event, and fending off all of the constant attention. There were AMC S/C Ramblers, Dodge Daytonas, C.O.P.O Camaro's, ZL1 Vettes, RAIV Pontiacs, several LS6 Chevelles, Hemis by the truckload and several near 100 point show cars! All I can say is F.A.S.T & Factory Stock type events are HERE to stay in the NE.

A couple of guys came up to me and said "this is the best day I have spent with my car in 30 years" and these guys were running 15's...This is the kind of stuff I wanna hear.

Thank You everyone for coming out, I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

I had a great time at that race. All of the cars were top-notch and the event was very well cordinated. I met COPOPete and he was a nice guy. We were talking to him for a while about his car and other COPO stuff. We're definetley going back next year, but will be racing instead of watching.
