It was a perfect day.
Great weather and the turnout was super 45 Factory Stockers, 21 F.A.S.T cars and 42 Show cars....over 100 cars participated in th event. Most everyone had a good day.

I just wanna thank all you guys who came out yesterday, especially TransAm Glen, Goatless, Ralph and the other guys who helped promote the event in their area. Rob and Art did a great job at the show tent, handing out giveaways and Prizes, Trophies, Plaques, T-shirts etc. We may have the bargaining power for a 2-day event next year. Raceway Park told me personally "we are blown away by the turnout". This is a day where it was below freezing in most spots in the early morning. Hemmings was there and got alot of great magazine material, so we may see some good press in future issues. For Muscle Cars.

Most people ran their personal best ET's ever. The weather was 55 degrees,no humidity and a very High Barometer...you guys who race know what that means. The ZLI's /L88's /C.O.P.O's were out in force yesterday blowing away almost everything in site! Thanks to Wayne Nelson, Terry Pennington, Jimmy Johnston & Pete Simpson for bringout out these awesome cars and driving like they should be driven.

I will post some pictures later today, as SMT66 broke down on the way back last night at 11:30 PM in Staten Island so I am going to help him get his truck road worthy this morning. So I won't have any official pics until later today.

Thank You everyone for coming out, I hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Just got back from E-town.....

....and WOW!! Wayne Nelson flat SHOCKED everyone with his 10.59 run in his 1969 L-88 Corvette clone that started out with a fantastic 1.61 sec. 60'. Congrats Wayne!!

The day was a near perfect day for drag racing. It started out at about 30 degrees at 8am and then got up to a sunny 50. Cold air and a sun warmed track helped everyone run well. Terry Pennington got his first 10 second run (10.959) in his 1969 ZL-1 Camaro clone with help from a great biting track and air that was anywhere between 1700' below sea level to a high of 500' above. Talk about mine shaft air, unbelivable!

A couple of friends from up north came down with their factory stock cars. Chicken farmer Peter Simpson ran a best of 11.74 with his 69 ZL-1 Camaro, and superb body man Jim Johnston shifted his silver 4-speed 1969 L-88 Corvette to an 11.58 et. Lots of first time F.A.S.T. participants showed up and a few of the small block Mopar guys were showing their big block brothers the quick way to the other end.

Lots of interested spectators showed for this years one day event and there are rumours that Gonzo will put on a two day end of the year event for 2006 Englishtown.

Here's too ya Bill for a great event http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
