Thanks for the recommendation. Not only did she provide better coverage than I was getting, she came in less than 1/2 price to boot!

Give them a shot and see how much they can save you too...

Thanks Tamra & MK! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Has anyone had any claims with MK? Do they have the assets to cover these high$ cars?

Underwriter is AM Best rated A, I believe. Insurance industry is highly regulated. I did a little research at the time I switched and was well satisfied. They are required to demonstrate the fiscal capability to satisfy claims.
Find the underwriter on the web site and check them out to satisfy yourself.

I was paying $748/yr w/Haggerty for $120K coverage for 4 cars.Tammy @ MK is $358/yr for $120K for 3 cars.
I did pay $15/yr additional for Haggerty's tow service but I have AAA now for my daily drivers.

She also saw a portion of my Haggerty coverage wasn't high enough and upped that.

Nothing against Haggerty but they are usually the most expensive quote for collector cars.Someone does have to pay for all those TV commercials and TV shows.

With those kind of premiums...I'm just guessing the values of your cars!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

I know most of these cars aren't driven (at least when your paying Haggerty 2600 a year) that often, but I do drive mine a couple of thousand miles a year. Are there mileage and usage limitations, or are these "show only" types of policies.

There are three different mileage options, 1,000/3,000/6,000. The majority of the clients go with 1,000 or 3,000 and this is for pleasure driving only. These mileage options are only available in my Elite program. Also keep in mind that I do also represent Hagerty, so if any of you want to stay with Hagerty you can also assign me as your agent.

So MK Insurance is really Hagerty Insurance?

I'm thinking that she reps for more than one insurance company...right?

I represent multiple insurance companies, I am an independent agent. Therefore, I find the right product for my clients.

That's what I thought...makes sense to me!

Is the Elite program different from the one being noted on this thread at lower premiums?

Can you offer a bit more on what constitutes "pleasure driving". Most policies I've seen are quite restrictive with the type of driving that is covered. They don't cover your trip to the grocery store or a Sunday "pleasure drive" regardless of the miles involved.

In a total loss instance are you guaranteeing payment equal to the dollar value of the car stated in the policy or is the car's value subject to some current market value opinions at the time of the loss?

Thanks.

a friend has Hagerty, got his 72 Hurst Olds smashed hard in the front.
Hagerty gave him no problems settling claim.

Who is the actual carrier ? How is MK rated ? Just going with a less expensive quote does not mean they will be there supporting you and not fighting you when there is a claim.
Maybe Tami would like to fill us in more ?

The Elite program provides agreed value coverage which means the value indicated on your policy is guaranteed in the event of a total loss. There are several mileage plans available and pleasure driving is covered. If you need more specifis, please call me 1-866-695-2774 toll free, Tami

MK is my agency it is not the actual insurance company. The insurance company is American Modern which is an A+ rated company out of Cincinatti, Ohio area. American Modern is an excellent carrier and financially viable and I have had no problem with any claims for my policyholders.

Hi Tami,

Does MK just cover stock restored type classics or do they offer coverage for cars modified with a roll bar and over size engines?

Do you do comprehensive only for cars that are trailer queens that are never driven, for agreed upon dollar amount of coverage per car. I only drive 3 of 25 plus cars. Only moved in and out of garage occasionally. Anyone else do this?
