I have always wondered... Sam... whats the affect of installing leaf springs in the front of the car?

It raised the front up for weight distribution and also the tube axle was lighter than the stock front end. That is how they believed in those days. The Gasser approach. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Another advantage people seem to forget is that it places the entire front suspension under the frame rails allowing room for just about any engine or header type.
