You failed to mention the "love bugs". Those little red and black flying beetles that destroy your car's paint when you hit them. They swarm twice a year and hover around the highways.

Populations go through natural cycles, with smaller flights some years than others.

professor of entomology at the University of Florida. Predators--such as, robins, quails, and armadillos-- reduced the numbers.
