I wonder if the restorer charged extra for the Caution Fan decal........ http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Cool car despite the sticker.

The restorer also didn't know that the no festival BB Pace Cars had a blacked out tail panel. Only the Canadian cars made in June of 1967 had the panel blacked out.

No emission stickers either. So the sticker on the rad support is wrong as well.

The biggy is the tail panel. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

It's for sale on the camaros.net website in the classifieds for $115,000. As long as the body is clean and it is numbers matching, I would think this car is worth all of that, even with the minor issues mentioned above. Of course, I would inspect it in person.

I think the 1967 Camaro Pace Car,was the best Looking/Designed of all the Camaro Pace Cars. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

67's are the epitomy of clean, no spoiler, no Z stripes.....a classic

69's got the spoilers, stripes and over the top interior....just as cool

variety is the spice of life

I love the 69 pace cars. I wanted one for my first car (didn't happen)...but I would have to take a 67 over a 69...any day!

Hey Charley, can I have yours? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The only right way to do it, is to have one of each.http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
They each have their differences.
Both are very special in their own way.
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

This one looks like a very nice car.
But you would need to look very carefully to be sure.

Steve's 69 IPC is likely the nicest small block in the country.
Sure has the most options I have ever seen. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

The guys over on the 67 Pacecar site are slamming this guys car real bad - For little stuff.
Nice to tell someone their little stuff is wrong - huh.

There is a very "not so funny" story I have to tell.
I went to see one of their members 69 Pace car that was for sale. His car on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4580177429&ru=http%3A% 2F%2Fmotors.search.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3Ffrom%3DR40%2 6satitle%3D4580177429%26fvi%3D1)

Flew out to Indiana (traveled 14 hours, and spent $400).
What I found was a car in complete disrepair.
The guy had a shop with 6 Camaros in various stages of repair. He was a dealer.
I can go into more details, but every component on this car was in poor condition, or not functioning. 4 Leaking brakes, blown water pump, mis-aligned sheet metal, ect.

When I confronted the seller, he basicly just insulted my looks.

SO - I posted a poll on their site asking:
What would you tell a prospective buyer about your car, before he flew 1500 miles to see it?

The imediate response was to delete my post, and kick me off the site.
The mod said he could tell exactly where this was going, and everyone liked this guy. Too bad for me - I liked him too, until money was involved.
So it was very funny to me to see, how they can dish it, but can't take it. Ironic huh? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Hmmm. In my opinion it's being discussed in a very civil manner. More then I can say for your post. Talk about slamming someones car.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Constructive critisism is being given and the seller is very receptive.

Nuff said.

Jeff... The car is not being bashed at the Camaropacecars.com site that you were banned from. It seems like you brought it up so you can tell your story of your incedent with another car that resulted in your getting banned. Don't start bashing pacecars.com here or you will have to also bash this site as well but from somewhere else.

Fair enough Charley.
Good point. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

looks like I am going to buy a very nice SB 69 IPC this Sunday.
So maybe this will have all worked out for the best. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Just doesn't seem right to tell a guy his beautiful car needs "5-10 grand" worth of stuff, just because the blue nose stripe, and blacked out tail panel are wrong.
I had a bumble bee stripe done for $300, and the rear panel likely would be less than that.

No one seems to be concerned about the componets: Is there an 880 manifold? that's going to be hard to find, as is the correct Carb and heads,is the stamping right?

Trim tag looks PERFECT to me.
That paintwork problem is the easiest thing to fix - for $500.00

Someone needs to go look at the car before they tell him how much it is NOT worth.

It is worth what someone wants to pay for it.
Not what a bunch of guys on a website says it is worth.
People are going to look for information about that car.
Who knows where they will turn.
And 5-10 grand is just not proper information.
Especially with the limited facts we have at this point.

I would love to see that car sell for $200K, I have one just like it. The stuff they are talking about is the little stuff. Shouldn't effect the value at all - just like a replacement Master Cylinder, easy stuff to fix.

The seller is overwelmed with questions about little stuff the new owner can fix if he decides to.
He is trying to be nice as possible, but doesn't deserve the picking.

I personnally like the black out panel - my car has one.(came that way)
Chevrolet did that cause the other manufactures were blacking out the rears of their HiPo cars.
It was street war times. Even if you didn't have loads of Horses you wanted to look that way.

And you guys here at Supercars know the best - If you had LOADS of HPower, you didn't want to let anyone to see, untill it was too late.

IMHO

Here are some additional pictures of the Pace Car.
VERY NICE RESTORATION.
Yes, there are a few little things that need attention.
(especially that decal, but maybe up in Wisconsin they are prone to sticking their fingers where they don't belong)

Remember, I have not seen the car in person.
So an interested buyer should inspect it for himself.
Still waiting for the engine stamp photo which he has not sent me.
