Trim tag is wrong.
A shame, it looks like a real Pace Car.
After the restoration, there are going to be questions about that tag.

You would think that after owning it for 15 years he would have learned how to spell Camaro.

I usually don't "crap" on cars for sale on ebay...but I noticed that everything that belongs to this car is out in the snow...did he store any of it indoors? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I saw something in one of the pictures that would make me cautious about it being a real 396 car. IMHO
There is one piece that I have seen to be repeatedly missed on "396" cars that turned out to be converted small block cars.
Look at the picture of the core support, and see if anyone else sees it.

Isn't it amazing how snow makes things look even worse,! I live about 15 minutes from this car if anyone is really serious I'll take a look at it for you, I think this car would collapse on itself if you put it on a rotisserie. Rough isn't the word for this one SULLY

This one should be stripped of it's usealbe parts and sent to the crusher.

I think the 4.10 rear was only available with the solid lifter L78.

Build date is March, VIN is late April, early May.

No question the tag is fake. Big question is: why? The other thing that jumped out at me was the correspondence stating he knew where the "original" rear end is. If the original rear is not with the car, then why did the seller post pics of a BV stamped rear and 4:10 gears dated March of 69?
Something is fishy here, and I don't think the anchovies have arrived yet.
OK, what was missed on the core support?
Also, I would sure like to see the numbers on those engine mount stands, but not bad enough to send someone over there.

The VIN is a March VIN. 9N623007. Last VIN of April was 637106, Last VIN in March was 9N623587.
Tha tags still a repro though.

Makes you wonder what is up.
Maybe the tag numbers are the same on these 2 cars.
I asked for a picture. Looks like it was a 2 for 1 sale. (2 sales - 1 car) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
