68 Camaro Z/28 - just finished 100K restoration project. Car is done complete and includes original full documentation - protecto plate with serial number w/punched warranty book http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif, build sheet http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif, purchase invoice sheet and original title still in original owners name http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Color is corvette bronze with black stripes. Car was ordered without tach and spoiler and was restored exactly the same.

The car was completed with a 3 page list of NOS parts accumulated over a 5 yr period, NOS chrome parts - rechromed to show condition. 5 original DF wheels and original 1968 goodyear white lettered bias ply tires with 95-98% tread. Car is correct in all respects - detail and numbers matching front to back on all the parts. You will need to add the front suspension paint marks to finish the car.

The decision to sell this car is not easy considering the car's original documentation as well - the original condition was very very good (replaced quarter and tail pan with NOS parts). Floors, hood, fenders and doors absolutely solid with no body work required. The fit and finish is impeccable as you would expect on a no expense spared restoration.

I can send pics to serious buyers only. I am trying to sell this before Jan 3rd, 2006. I am available for inspection as you need - car is located in Reston, Virginia.

We all know what it takes to do a top of the line restoration job. Price = $82K

Sorry, tried to add a pic, but dont know how to resize it http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

My favorite color combo for a 68. Very underappreciated. Pictures never do them justice.

OK, just got kid #3 out of college, Christmas time, have to pay those damn estimates, got to fund the IRA.... let me check the balance in my checking account. Hey, Jonesy, can I borrow $81,500? It's for a good cause!

Seriously, awesome car, and sure looks like an awesome resto. As expected though, the photos posted on the net never can quite capture the color.

Some of my best memories in High School are running around in a Corvette Bronze 68 Z with American Racing wheels, 15 x 7 in front and 15 x 8 in back. I had helped my buddy put the "1st design" optional cam in it. Already had the GM headers on it when he got it. Talk about driving it like it was stolen. That poor car would see 8 grand on the steering column mounted tach on a regular basis; then SLAM the next gear. Then, the car really did get stolen. Bummer.

Never did figure out why it didn't pull a rocker stud, especially with the heavier springs, but it didn't. Believe it or not, he replaced that car with a Red/White 67 Z which ended up T boned so badly the dash was an inverted "V". And by the way, Jonesy, that is the car your new oil pan came from.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread, just taking your car down a trip on Memory Lane.

Again: awesome car.

Thank you for the kind words, the car is very very nicely done. The tires in the pics are roll around tires, the orig DF's with the 68 goodyears are sitting on the side - ill put then on today, improves the finished look as you would expect. Thanks Bruce for resizing the pics....one day ill have to learn that process http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Hey man,
That car's missing the "caution fan" sticker!!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Of course, that was a joke for those of you who did not get it.

Merry Christmas,

Rich

Does the car have its "born with" drivetrain -- rear end, trans, and engine?

Where are the Broadcast sheets located on 68 Z-28's? I thought they didn't start using them until 1969.

The documentation was compiled by the owner for me, so i cannot say where inthe car it was found. Kurt has looked this over and he may have an idea where they are located??

Broadcast sheets were used for all 67-69 Camaros.
Probably came from the dealership when they bought the car; it may have been inside it when they prepped the car.
