I have seen this hand stamped "P" on at least one other pilot car so you never know.

Read here for information on another pilot car as well as some photos of the "P". It would be interesting to see how yours is stamped. What plant is your car from?

That was what I suspected. Sounds very similar.

It would be hard to tell without researching 1967 Chevelles (something I've never did)..I'm not sure if J Mattison's email to me shows up in that old thread..it references LS6 "pilots" but I think he was refering to most "pilots" Do you have any Chevrolet paperwork on the car?

The only fact paperwork besides the p.o.p there is a paper tag under the rear seat that says body, style, job etc that is very hard to read i believe due to hyd fluid from the top cylinders over the years its very dark in color...

I'm not versed in 1967 buildsheets or trim tags, but others are..Typically "pilots" would have gone to execs or for engineering purposes...Might be a code or some writing on your tag that address this..can you post pics?

Greg,
He was refering to pilots in general, and most were built at the Flint plant, regardless of what the VIN plate showed..the exception being current models with only engine changes-which were built at normal assy plants.

Hey Mark,

I think I've heard that somewhere..lol j/k While Jim wrote that "pilots" went to Flint, it is possible the car was built at the plant as if a base convert, the 1967 body and subsequent car would have been essentially a carryover from 1966. Since no real signifcant changes from 1966 it is possbile it was built at the plant, although Flint is the better choice...Glad you are alive..sorry I didn't call and wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays..oh well..alittle belated..

If it has a cowl tag that says what plant it was built it, that's were it was built.
Flint did the early pre-production prototypes. Those would not be saleable units.
