The company I work for has a service vehicle in Eastern Canada that we'd like to bring into the States for use here. Does anyone have the name of a good Importer who might be able to help make this as smooth a transition as possible?

Mark,

I think he is looking for a broker. Try Moonbeam International in Buffalo, N.Y. They will get all your paperwork prepared for importing a car into the US from Canada.

Hehe - good one Rob! My best Vandelay Industries Seinfeld show was when George was having a dump in the toilet and Kramer answered the phone.

OK, then try Livingston International also. If you use Mackie for transport, they will handle all of the documents too.

You guys crack me up....I'm still laughing! . Wasn't that the same episode where George had to date that really skanky broad who's mom was in charge of the unemployment insurance? ~ Pete

You are correct Pete. But... if we really want to get anal about this (and we are a pretty anal bunch or we wouldn't be concerned that the script be two different sizes on our RC-15 radiator caps!!!) Vandolay Industries and Art Vandolay are really two different fictional entities. Vandolay Industries is the latex manufacturer that, as Pete so aptly pointed out, was considering hiring George as its latex salesman.

Art Vandolay, the importer exporter, was Elaine's fictional boyfriend (again dreamed up by George) that Elaine and George were supposed to be discussing while George was out with Marissa Tomei talking about "ma" and "newer", while he was "sort of" engaged to Susan.

Glad we cleared that up.

NOW can I be your latex salesman????

Who could ever forget Teri Hatcher's famous line as she shut the door to Jerry's apartment "Oh, and by the way, they are real and they're spectacular!"

I thought Art Vandelay was an architect?? . And what was that knuckle trick George was amazing the chicks with? . I sure miss that show....about nothing! ~ Pete

Well I'm guilty of wanting to throw an Art Vandelay joke in this thread also but it looks like you guys beat me to the punch several times already. I wonder if the show writers have any idea of the credibility that they gave that name. When I hear import/export, Vandelay is the first name that pops in my head.

Vandelay group aside, I've always heard only good about Mackie Transport. . They've been there for years and used to have an old Douglas A26 WW2 Bomber on the roof of their original building beside Hi-way 401 in Oshawa. . They have a nicely restored 50's tractor trailer, KW I think also they or one of the family has the Oshawa Harley Davidson dealership? ~ Pete

So Lynn if I am reading this correctly you are claming that there are "2" diffrent Vandolays??? Do you have any picture proof of this and why are you just making that claim now.
Next you will be saying that one of the Vandolays has a swing open door http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
I feel before you go making these unfounded statements that you should have done your homework first. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif
If you feel the need to continue this discussion we should take it off line.

Only one of the Vandelays had a working door, lets call it # 1 and it also had a Kremer brand reverse peekhole. . The # 2 had only a handle for looks but no door. . The guy who sold # 1 said it was real so it must be true? . I've heard if you opened the #1 door or looked through the reverse peekhole you could see some of Carl Farban's handywork? . Lets all celebrate with a few shots of Henderson's odourless booze! ~ Pete
