View Full Version : Iowa ZL-1 Possibly?
I was talking to an Old friend about the past.He said he remembered a guy in the Des Moines Iowa area named Larry Byers (sp?) who drove a 1969 Camaro, that was unusually fast in it's day.
I asked what engine, and he replied, "it was all silver...420something,with a rubber ring on the air cleaner..like your Chevelle Rick."
Ring a bell with anyone? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I twouldn't surprise me a bit. COPO Anders has a ZL-1 block that came from Iowa. It came from the Waterloo area-- but that doesn't mean anything. That particular block was in the hands of some local dirt-trackers for some time. They had put slurry in it from what I recall. Anders? Any ideas what ZL-1 that motor came from?

I will probably do that for you too, Schonye. I am still compiling body panels for that rainy day project I have for you. Still wish you would see fit to come over this way for something......I want you to see the thing to get an idea of what it is gonna take.
