The "Briggs Chevrolet" Ray Allen car, 70 LS6 ragger.
I think it goes across the block close to the same time as Jim's 70 Velle SS convertible. I'll be checking the BJ website in a week or so to make note of the ones I want to watch.

My COPO Chevelle is #1013.1, Friday night Jan. 20, approx 7PM AZ time, Speed TV is running then I am told. I also have a '66 HEMI Satellite, 15k unrestored survivor #1053.1, about an hour later. They both left Erie yesterday. For those of you coming out my cars are side by side in tent #1. I'll be around all week assisted by my new volunteer, some guy named Hassett from Ashtabula, Ohio. Please come by and see us. Should be great spectator sport all thru the week. So...........what is the guess from you guys on what the COPO should do on the block ? Just curious.

I'm smack dab in the middle of George's cars, I have lot 1034 , my 69.5 Super Bee A12 6 Pack, and 1034.1, my 58 Vette 290 HP FI car. I think they will run earlier than George listed (or so I was told by BJ BEFORE my check cleared - LOL). They start at lot #900, run about 20 cars an hour, so....lot 1034 should be around 5pm PST, +/- depending on if they clip along nicely or have to work hard on some cars and slow it up.
I have a yellow GT500KR convert and the 69.5 Bee in the Showcase, plus my 69 Judge hardtop and 58 Vette in Tent 1. Stop on by and say hi once you see George!

Colin

A guy who is local to me also has a 69 Chevelle COPO at B-J...a Forest green one, entry #1047. Met him at a small local car show this past summer, and at that time he told me he already had it consigned. Told me he was hoping to get north of $200K for it.
Colin, I really hope you're right on the time estimate....but if B-J runs true to form as they have in past years, it will probably be way later than 5 pm http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Is this pic shown above the Futurliner at B-J (previosuly known as the Fido unit) or of the recently restored NATMUS one? ~ Pete
Mr. T
01-13-2006, 12:05 AM
Pete,
Taken from the Barrett-Jackson site.
One of 12 built by GM, a self-contained display and transport vehicle created by the GM design staff under Harley Earl's direction. Opening side, lighting, retractable stage, distinctive center "cupola" cockpit driving position and dual wheel front axle. Used in the "Parade of Progress" touring exhibit created by "Boss" Kettering that complemented the GM "Motoramas" from 1940 through 1956. One of only three survivors restored in their original "Parade of Progress" configuration (the others are in long term ownership by NATMUS and Peter Pan Bus Lines), this Futurliner is fully functional and has toured Canada in corporate promotions. Recently returned to its original "Parade of Progress" configuration and colors. Powered by a 400ci GM truck engine and fully equipped including an onboard motor-generator and updated air conditioning for the driver's compartment. A matchless symbol of the American auto industry at the height of its power and influence.

Thanks Tony. . What I was wondering was if the pic you posted was the one at B-J or if it was the one restored by Natmus on the Futurliner website? . It looks so nice I thought it may be the Natmus one? . The toured Canada notes are from when it was owned by the Fido phone company and it is the one now at B-J. . I hoped to get a look at it a couple years ago when I went to the F-1 races in Montreal but missed it. . Thanks! ~ Pete
