Thanks Bud,

That's the issue.
Had the car since 1981.
Long story but here goes.
Bought the car on Whidbey Island WA. in may 1981.
I live in Vancouver B.C. & Canada had an import restriction on used cars from the US & those cars had to be at least 15 years old.
I got around it because my bro was in residence going to school at Western WA U.

We stored the car in WA till June of '81 when he paid a temporary importation bond till he returned in the fall of '81 with the car. Car was again stored till june of '82 when he relocated back home & could import the car as settlers possesions. hope your following this http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Ok, so the cars here but he can't sell it for a year although I'm driving it with his insurance.
had lower ball joints installed at sears at 64000K.

Was married june of '82 car transfered & was brought to my residence June '83.
I tore up the nylon teeth on the cam gear (peice of http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif)at 67,699 miles.

Engine was pulled & front end dissasembled, intended on resto.

Body shop said I should replace quarters, driver door skin (has factory oilcan), fenders, header, grill & valance.
Had a friend at a GM dealer & bought ALL THOSE PARTS for $1500 CDN. Those were the days.

Mortgages Kids & the wifes spending habits kept the car in a garage till now.
Got my kicks goin' to swap meets for parts, ebay & here too.

What value does this car have as is?
orig engine trans & rear, brakes, carb, intake, alt, dated 15X6 rallys w/nos trim rings (sorry zedder!). Base z, marroon w/white stripes.
Black int w/console & guages all in good shape.
Needs ground up but would say I have majority of parts.
Wife says she drove the car for family pupose http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Throw me some #'s gentlemen. The X says it's worth 20K USD as is. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif

thats what I was thinking, call her bluff....we can find another one if she is playing rough on your end..but in all honesty if the numbers on the car are real as in it left GM stuff and you have paper on the car she is probably not far off...

bummer she is hosing you...never could figure out why when it's time to split the stuff, people cant divide it up and go down the road, instead it get's sold and plenty of the money goes to legal help and both get very little and go down the road very unhappy.

Rob, it's a dirty game, been there big time! . It's amazing how the ex'es tell the lawyers that everything is worth a fortune yet they always bitched when you bought something truly magic for peanuts while citing Jack and the beanstock stories?? . Send me a PM if you want any tactics....there's a few good ones that worked for me.

I think I remember the rusty '69 Z car....wasn't it a hugger orange car? . Have you been searching the eBay completed auctions?. . Here's a better eBay example if you're giving her half the value. . Good luck! ~ Pete
