Is that a Z-16 in there?
Where in Texas is he located? Nice group of cars. I met a fellow in Austin a few weeks ago that has three '67 big block Corvettes. He told me of one of his cars that is a 427/435 roadster and has only 22,000 miles on it. You're always a bit skeptical when you hear this, but he invited me to see the car and it was an amazing low mile, documented Corvette. With some prepping, I think that it is a Bloomington Benchmark type car that very few folks know exists.

Thanks guys for the compliments and a Special Thanks to Bruce for resizing and posting the pictures.
As you can probably tell 1970 Chevelles are my favorite car. I’m conflicted about this choice because my father was a Ford guy. He bought Ford, drove Ford and repaired Ford.
He was a hellufa mechanic (redneck raisin’ showing) who specialized in Holley Carbs. Man could I use him now! I grew up in Kentucky where fast cars and moonshine were linked together like hotdogs and mustard. My dad had a shop in the garage where he did carb rebuild on the side and my job was to disassemble the carbs and put the metal parts in the dip baskets and rinse them off after. So I guess I come by this love for autos honestly.
My first car was a 1968 Chevelle Concours. I wanted a Super Sport but that was all $800 would buy, That car lasted 2 months before I pulled out in front of a gentleman one evening and took it in the drivers door. Saving money for my next car started the following day. By August I was able to buy a red 1970 Chevelle SS 454 which became the terror of the small town my buddy’s and I haunted. One evening on the way home, the car failed to make a 90 degree right hand turn and we rolled down a hill about 150 feet. The saving started again and I was able to get another red 1970 Chevelle SS 454 for car #3. I don’t know if either car was a LS5 or LS6. What I did know was, they said “Cowl Induction” on the hood and there were 454 emblems on the side. Man, was I cool, enough said. Car #3 must have had the same factory defect as it failed to make the same turn one night with the same result. Thankfully I wasn’t hurt and had dropped of my girl at her house before heading home. Ever since, 1970 Chevelles have turned my head.
I sponsored a couple of oval dirt track cars in the 90’s and my fondness of Chevrolet’s grew from this. Those of you who are racers know that you need lots of power and lots of parts. My driver tore up a lot of stuff and Chevy was the easiest to get power from and parts were cheap and plentiful in the junk yard. From that I came to love bowties but will always have some ovals in the garage.
Around the middle of 2004 I decided to buy some collector cars and Chevelles were on the top of the list. I wanted an LS6 Chevelle but didn’t know where to look. I had bought a few things off E-bay and remembered there were cars on there. I watched for several months but could not find anything and the money was burning a whole in my pocket like a 7 year old boy who awoke to find 50 cents under his pillow. I finally found a 67 Firebird 326 HO for sale on E-bay just a couple of miles from home. That was my first collector car and It’s special to me. Early in 2005 I found a 1970 Citrus Green Chevelle for sale on E-bay that suppose to a “one of one” car . My favorite color has always been green and I was interested. In doing my due diligence before purchasing that car I googled “1970 Citrus Green Chevelle” and a link to Yenko.net came up. I had no idea what I was on to. I was able to buy the car and I found my home on the web all from that ad.
I have since been able to obtain 8 – 1970 Chevelle LS6 cars in the past 14 months and have discovered along the way why mid year Corvettes are so popular. They are truly a work of art, a beautiful car in form and function. I have not forgotten Ford’s, as they are in my blood with Boss 429 and Shelby cars at the top of the heap. I’m still learning the other makes and will someday own some Mopars, but right now I still need enough LS6’s to make my own calendar.
My collection has been put together so fast, that many of my car’s “stories” are unknown by me, as I’ve been busy locating and authenticating them. I will post more info on them as time allows.
Now to answer some questions:
Stuart…. that was not a Z-16 in the background. YET!
Fred…..it’s an “S” motor. KK1427
Thanks Again,
Howard

Geez Howard!!! Maybe you and Chad should talk. Seems he has the same LS-6 addiction as you do yet the LS-6 convertible still eludes him. He is letting me store parts of (another possible one of one green one) in his warehouse which is not helping his sleep much lately. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Howard...Nice collection. But I gotta ask...Is that "Caution Fan" sticker on the 68 Z28 a part of the Ford thing you can't let go of? I am surprised one of these guys has not said something about that sticker.

Put the sticker on just for the picture. I wondered who would be first to mention it. I've seen enough post on this site to know it would pull someone offsides.

It's good to see Bruce posting some pics of the collection and especially pics of the Twins. You know how I feel about the factory correct cars but God I miss being strapped into that Chevelle on Saturday night when it's spanking some Vipers azz . I'm not sure how many 150mph street driven Chevelles there are out there ...but that is one of them. But you know I'm biased when it comes to the Twins. Hands down the most outrageous, over the top, state-of-the-art, matching pair of 1100hp pump gas GM hot rod muscle cars on the planet. That's it, it's done , put a fork in it, case closed. Is anyone not clear on how I feel about these two cars. Matching trailer too.javascript:void(0)

Also, rumor has it there will soon be a 1600hp pump gas all aluminum blown Donovan 69 Camaro prowling the street of west Houston.javascript:void(0)
