Made it to R & S this p.m. for a little bit and took these shots. Had to take them in a hurry near closing time. Sorry for poor quality. Good crop of cars though. Enjoy.

White LS6. Dual Snorkel, console auto with 3.31. Nice resto. I don't see too many white LS6s - this looked good in white due to high quality resto. A few things wrong, but nothing that couldn't be undone.

440 6 Pack Convertible from Bill W's collection. Slap stick. I am embarrassed to say that I only recently learned what is unique about the slap stick. You start in first and when you want to shift to second you just slap the shifter forward and it will only go to the next gear and no further. No missed shifts or shifting into neutral and over revving. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif Pretty neat idea. Never liked the look of a slap stick, but now have a better appreciation of it.

I believe this is the green/white/white LS6 convertible auto console that was on ebay recently. Very nice restoration. I was disappointed to see a very nice stamp on the block stamp pad that matched the VIN of the car. As I recall, this was advertised on ebay as a replaced block. Don't know why the correct stamping had to be placed on this block. It will only lead to confusion. Did I miss something on ebay? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Nice cars. Nice dust layer on all of them too. You'd think at these high value auctions, the people running them would prepare a little better (put down matting, astroturf, something, etc) so the cars don't get damaged in the process.

Steve...to be honest...living here in the desert, even with ALL the things that you mentioned there is still dust around. It takes some getting used to.

Plus, at the auctions it gives the detailers some extra $$ in their pockets http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Continuation of preview at R&S on Thursday. Man, there are a lot of nice cars at R&S this year! I spent 3 + hours and still did not get to all. They have 450 cars this year vice 300 from last year. Drew made a last minute decision to do this due to all of the requests he was getting from potential consigners.

Here is a nice 'velle, 396/325 (yeah, a couple things wrong, but decent overall):

Only other doc was a POP-but for Olds that does not speak to drivetrain. Can't beat that color combo!

Top bid on this NR was $155K.

Seemed to me that there was more Ford $ than GM or Mopar at R&S this year.

Another notable result:

The Yenko Vega is an interesting piece, but if I'm reading the info correctly, its been modified pretty heavily. Though much more fun like this, for the "purist", doesn't this car need to have a modified 4 banger reinstalled? Wouldn't a price penalty be paid for someone dropping an LS6 into their Yenko Deuce to make it more fun? Plus, even with all of the good Yenko PR and lore that's been spread for the last 5 years, do you think even 5% of the people in that tent even knew Yenko made special Vegas? Price seems very OK to me.....just my $0.02, which, when adjusted for mania, is worth even less in Scottsdale in January http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good job Sam http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Thanks for covering the other side of the 101 Fwy.

When did you split from Pavillions? We got there around 3pm...and were lucky enough to get a place to park http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Do I read that correctly, the Arlen Vanke Hemi Barracuda sold for $2,000,000? I can't find any other info to verify this. If it really sold for $2million, why isn't there more buzz about that? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

"Sold" is a relative term. It ain't over till the money and title have exchanged hands. However, I was in the gallery (took the photos) when the auction for the Vanke car was "sold" to the high bidder at $2mil. Not sure why there is no big press on this car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif R & S are slow (compared to BJ) to post their results. Only me and 500 of my closest friends were privy to this info.

So what did the Lyle Mader Carolina Blue JL8 ordered crossram car sell for?

And if anyone knows the final bid on the orange 70 Chevelle LS6, please share it as well. No results yet on the R&S site. Thanks...

Did not get the final bid on the Carolina Blue Z, but as I recall the Monaco Orange LS6 was bid to $120 or so. Sign on car in corral was "reserve was $135K or $140" as I recall. I believe owner shld have taken this.

The 7o 442 W-30 sold for $135K plus buyers fee and went to a new home. Seller did not buy it back.

My recollection was that the high bid on the Carolina Blue Z was 100K with a reserve of 175K. The H-O LS6 had a high bid of 120K with a reduced reserve on Sunday of 128K. Both went through again on Sunday. Had to catch my flight so I don't know the finial out come.

I still don't see any attraction in that blue Z..

Did nothing for me in person. I was intrigued when I saw the pix on the R & S web site. The NC blue LS6 from last year, althought not a perfect resto looked better than this. Love the history and docs, but sometimes that is not enough. Not my cup of tea either.

I'm pretty sure the Monaco Orange LS-6 did find a new home.

Me too. I personally don't like the color or the extended stripes. The paperwork is pretty cool, but without the JL8 brakes being put on the car it takes away from the car IMO. But it sold for $150K on Ebay once or twice so that's probably why they expected $175k or more at auction.

Well, Charlie, that's how I felt, too.... until I saw the docs. It is a real, 46k mile car, with an older repaint in the orig color and odd stripe style. It is one of the most heavily optioned Z's I've ever seen and has incredible (INCREDIBLE) documentation. In fact, it is one of the only Zs that I would consider as the closest thing to a factory crossram. The original dealer has stated he put the xram on when it was new. Docs stating this are forthcoming. With all of the xram hype and 99% of them phony, this one is real.

No, it isn't my favorite color (I especially like Daytona Yellow http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) and no, I didn't buy it, nor did it sell at Russo. I think it is going to a new home, though......

A dealer installed crossram is neat but not neat enough for me to want Carolina blue on a Z28. The color just does not fit on a 69 Z for me.

Am I the only one who thinks it somewhat odd that, 3 1/2 weeks after the auction ended, R&S still doesn't have final results posted http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
