1969 Fathom Green/Green COPO Chevelle just went for an even $200,000.

I talked with George numerous times during the day...and have some more cool pics of it that I'll post in a while. Talked to the photographer for Chevy High Performance magazine...and introduced him to George..he shot a few pics of his car, also! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

There is a new first time SuperCar owner. The Malibu COPO is heading to Chicago Land(J-Town).

The Green COPO seems to be heading out to Conre Texas.

Any particular reason for the big price difference between these two COPO Chevelles?

Yes, there are many, but M40 vs M22 was probably the largest price differential, IMO.

I'm thinking it was more of a timing issue. George's COPO went across the block too early in the auction. It might have brought $250K on Saturday with all the hype of the other cars.

I agree. It's that Saturday evening feeding frenzy time. It makes a big difference. Of course, then again, it is hard to beat Fathom Green. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I think it was a combination of things...Malibu body, auto trans and the engine block stamping was a stamp over on the engine code. Most people would assume it was a restamp. Chris White said he had seen that exact same thing on another 375 that was stamped to a 427 and that he believed it was correct. It would be neat to track how many pads like that show up. http://www.yenko.net/attachments/185464-IMG_1228.JPG
