Still not a Baldwin Motion Camaro ..
I heard Joel May Have said we lived in Baldwin so the name applies...
B.S.
last time I heard Motion is just a model company in Florida.
I'm just not getting it ...
I can almost bet it's not his sole Idea to use that name.
If you looked at the site theres alot of hands in this Pie
to me it takes from the car and the whole Idea, then again
i'm not one of those guys with more money then brains.
Yes I realize what I said and waiting for the lashing http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Baldwin Motion--Shelby Mustangs--Yenko -Chrysler Hemi---Phases of the Moon--Gravity---the length of a 1/4 mile----Change is not an option......Enjoy the ride..

Since they are Joels babies and Joel was and is Motion...why would he not call them by the name that brings the best memories and excitement for the new offering...he would be stupid to call them Florida Sunshines or something else totally unrelated to the history,

Simple MOTION Camaro would fit the bill ..Even call them PhaseIII..
But to name them Baldwin just dont make alot of sense ..
There where plenty of conversations as to if a Motion Equiped car was a B/M and
unless it came from Baldwin Chevrolet it is not
No matter where MOTION is located
..and the value of the car shifts due to that reason
I believe that holds true to any others made to date.
I think it just sounds phony ..Like it's trying to be passed of as something it is not.
Almost as if there selling more of a name then the actual product.

Since Joel was and is Motion...

Also keep in mind MOTION was much more than just Joel
he would have never done it on his own,I can almost bet
he would tell you the same.
There was alot of talent at that shop
Joel was a great business man in that time era and
yes he made it work ..
but there is never any other credit given where it is due
to others that Made MOTION Great in it's "Hey Day"

As with any privately owned business that expands....
Most certainly, Joel shared a story with me where he presented his HAND WRITTEN business plan to Baldwin Chevrolet when the whole thing got started. I dare say he was getting his hands dirty in the beginning. Let alone the racing he did he estabish Motion's reputation?? According to him Motion was a two "man" shop at the time...he and his lovely wife Judith.
When I was in Long Island picking up the last two cars, He handed me the keys and then quickly took them back only to remove his spark plug gapper off the ring....
"My good luck piece"
I am sure there was a tremendous amount of history in that one small item.

Joel was/is a very talented mechanic, driver, and business man and Marty Schorr has got to be the master of marketing. The two of them made Motion larger than life. Joel certainly had talent in the shop. One name in particular........Bill Mitchell. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
I don't have a problem with them using "Baldwin" with the new car. Certainly it is what we all remember from the magazines back in the day and today it adds perceived value.
