What is the best way (for correct appearance) to glue the posi label to the inside of the trunk lid? Car is a 68 Camaro if that makes a difference. Thanks

All of the early Camaro (and other Chev) posi labels were glued on with a few swipes of a brown adhesive. You can get the same effect using an adhesive in a tube: 3M Plastic Trim Adhesive, Weatherstrip Adhesive, etc. Virtually all originals have 3 or 4 horizontal swipes - nothing ever around the edges. The bead will be about 1/4" wide - not excessive. Slap the label on - you can't stick your tongue out, squint and line it up (picture someone doing this on the line!).

I believe that these labels were affixed by the worker while leaning in from the sides. Just my observations, and so I affixed mine that way as well - literally glued it, leaned in, and slapped it on! Over-restorers like to make them perfect, but I've never seen one that wasn't crooked.

I saw a repainted for quick sale,1970 Chevelle,in the Car corral here at the Chevelle ShowDown in 1988 at the Peoria Civic Center.
The owner went the cheap route and didn't hit the doorjambs or under decklid areas.
It still had the Factory Posi decal attached as it originally came from the factory with the worded side glued to the decklid. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
It was as if you could just hear the Assembly line worker saying,"F-u!"

Is the current reproduction of THIS label a peel off- self adhesive or can you actual buy one that used good ole fashioned "glue" ????????

Our car didn't even come with a posi sticker. Sunday or Friday job I guess.

I have both an original and a reproduction. The current reproduction is produced on paper and needs to be glued on. I think earlier reproductions have adhesive on the back and were printed on a plastic/vinyl type material.

While we are on the posi trunk decal... Who makes the best (correct) 69 camaro jack instruction decal? I assume this decal was applied the same way and was also made of paprer and not vynal like the repo decals. Thanks! Tommy M.

Who is Jim Osborn and where is he? Does he have a website? I would like to get correct repro labels for both jacking and posi plus a bunch more. Thx!
