Hey John, sorry it took so long to post this. I completely forgot. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Anyways, here are some shots of John's new engine that's going in his 69 Z...impressive to say the least! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

That thing looks great John with impressive numbers to boot. Gotta love those 383 combos. Do you mind telling what they used for cam, lifters and valve train? Good luck. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Thanks guys for the nice comments and thanks again Bruce for posting these pictures! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

The block is an old-school "010" block that's been thermally cleaned and stainless steel shot.Its got an Eagle forged 4130 steel crank,Eagle Forged 4340 H-beam rods,SRP forged 11.1:1 pistons,a Comp Cams mechanical roller (duration:254 @.50" I / 260 @.50" E)(lift:.582" I / .588" E)(lobe separation:110),Patriot Performance 225cc 100%CNC ported race head 225cc runner/64cc angle plug chamber/2.08"/1.60" stainless valves/dual .700" gold springs/titanium retainers,and a Victor Jr CNC & port-matched manifold topped off by a ProForm 750 DP mechanical race carb.

Chad Golen says it'll spin to 7200+ but the power falls off after 6600.I love seeing the HP gains of 10hp every 100rpm almost from 2700 rpm on up to the redline.I also love the torque curve which is just so flat from 3-grand up.That's the beauty of the 383...where I'll be picking up tons more low-end torque over my 302.
This engine is going into my '69 Z/28 and it will hopefully see lots of track time at my home course,Laguna Seca.
I wanted something in keeping with the style and sound of the original Z...not to pull up at a car show and have people scratching their heads http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif...I think they'll hear me coming with this combo... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

I should have it next week....very excited. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Thanks...and thanks Bruce for posted them.
Just installed it yesterday and that went pretty smoothly.
Now I've got little issues like trying to find the correct crank pulley to match up with the rest since my balancer is now different.

Hope to get it running soon... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
