67 Shelby GT500KR 427 4 speed:What would this car be worth (ballpark-range), original motor, southwest car, needs: paint, interior, rebuild, no rust? How much would it be worth restored?

You've got your mescription dixed. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
That would be one cool car if it existed. It is probably a 68 GT500KR with a 427 transplant or a 67 GT500 with a 427 transplant. Either way a cool car. 67's are usually worth more but the KR is coming on strong. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks.I am not a Ford guy so I dont know much about this Shelby thing. A friend saw the car, we dont know the year, but it has 427 badges on the fenders and GT500KR on the rockers, and NADA list a 427 in mustang in 67. Were there any 427 Shelbys? Any help is much appreciated!

In Shelby Mustang land there is one 1967 with a 427. It is commonly know as the "Super Snake".
A 1967 Shelby Mustang has a long hood with the scoops in the middle of the hood. A 1968 has a header panel in front of the hood and the scoops are at the front of the hood. 1967 tailights do not have vertical chrome bars and 1968 does. 1967 has a wood rimmed three spoke steering wheel, 1968 has a two spoke wheel.
Hope this helps.

Prototype missed it by a little bit. There are 3 that came with 427's. Only one was built as the Super Snake though.

I've seen one.
It's been a while since I saw it, but at the time it was awaiting restoration and had been sitting for a long time.
Forget those '66 convertibles. In my opinion, the Holy Grail of Shelbys.

Charlie,
------My cousin took a Paxton supercharged silver blue 4-speed 427 67 Shelby in trade on his Cobra R-car back in 1971. That Shelby was a handfull. Cobras serial no. was 003. The Shelby was originally given to a high-up Goodyear tire exec. It then made its way to a local Ohio SCCA racer who wanted my cousins Cobra more than he did. The bad part of this story: I could have bought the Cobra for $5500 just before the trade happened.Cobra is now fully restored living in a garage in New Jersey, and the current owner was offered 2 mil for it back in the early 90s. My bad,,,,huh????..........Bill S
