The fact that the owner is not willing to pay $1,500 for a doc fee may tell you something. Very honest description though.

emailed the seller to see if there are any vintage pics or previous owner info. if it was raced for that long someone has to remember the car. not interested in purchasing the car myself.

IMO, $20,000 seams high w/o the motor/trans. Both sides of the firewall near the trans tunnel looks like they had to beat it in to fit the motor.

Pretty sure that car was for sale for a long time on Team Camaro for $10k. I guess the previous owner should have snapped a pic of the motion decal!

If it had one owner since 1970, all he should need to do is check with that one owner. He would know something about the history.

Are you talking about the current owner? His description says "THIS Z HAS BEEN A QUARTER MILER SINCE 1969. DOCUMENTED 15,000 ACTUAL MILES, SAME OWNER SINCE NEW, 1 OWNER, ORIGINAL TITLE SINCE PURCHASED IN 1970"

How can he now have no info on the racing history?

I was talking about getting in touch with the previous and supposedly only other owner. If he bought it new in 1970, he would have some history on the car. Surely the current owner knows who he bought the car from.

"Dyno Tuned By Motion" stickers don't make a car a Baldwin/Motion car. It could be a Motion modified or tuned car. I remember this car being for sale last year as well. A little embellishment and the price goes up.

lyn, i asked for previous owner info and racing background or any vintage photos, he did not provide any information. i guess someone would have to buy the car to find out the original owners name from the title.
i realize this is most likely just a car that ordered some parts from motion, or maybe @ some point got a tune up, im not implying this is a motion car because of one sticker. thought if it was a race car for that long someone may know its history, seems seller does not know the history or is not providing it.

My brother owns an auto repair shop. People frequently bring in used cars for consideration of purchase. If it is for sale by a dealer, he always insists on getting the name of the previous owner. If the dealer refuses, there is a reason. If it is a good car, the PO will actually help sell it.

Same applies in this situation. Why would you withhold that info? According to the auction: "DOCUMENTED 15,000 ACTUAL MILES, SAME OWNER SINCE NEW, 1 OWNER, ORIGINAL TITLE SINCE PURCHASED IN 1970." Should be very easy to put you in touch with that PO. I am just suspicious of these kinds of stories, especially when the seller is not willing to provide any more information. Not saying it is or isn't a Motion car. Just need more info.

Notice the auction has been ended early. Guess someone bought it.

Just my 02 cents.

A friend of mine has a drawer full of old racing stickers, I bet he has about dozen of the motion ones. Maybe ill grab a couple and put on my cars so they double in price http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
