I'm making my plans to go to the June NHRA race at Chicagoland, any recommendations on where to stay? Is Harrah's Joliet any good? All suggestions are welcome..
Thanks,
-Sam

Yeah, I'd love to have a slice of authentic Chicago-style pizza with sausage and peppers, and what's that wet sangwedge - Italian Beef? Is that it?
Darren,
I might be able to come in the weekend before, the race runs Thursday through Sunday, so it eats up that weekend. It would be great to go to a couple cruises with you guys! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif

Guys it sounds great - maybe I can help Belair Bob work on his Deuce or turn wrenches with Darren on his big block Z while I'm in town - garage visits are the best!

Not that anyone on here would care, but July 13-15 in conjunction with the Lucas Oil Sportsman Top Alcohol drags at Route 66, will be the Hurst/ Olds Club of America national meet. Look up more information at H/O Club of America website (www.hurstolds.com) . Unfortunately, I know I cannot make the event.

OK guys, it's the weekend after next - I'm looking forward to getting out of this steady rain!
We get into town Wednesday night, qualifying starts Thursday. We'd love to meet anyone for cruising or dinner Thursday night the 8th, and we're taking the day off from the track Saturday, so we're up for any cruises and shows Saturday the 10th.
On a related note, if someone is interested in two Skybox passes plus parking for Saturday, we have them up for sale in the For Sale section - here (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/206820/an/0/page/0#206820) -

Sam You are a very lucky man with these guys out there! Darren and the boys treat you like royalty. Have Gags give you a guided Italian tour of the hot spots and land marks. Grab Mike G. and Stefano too! The food, the guys and the cars. Make sure you take Sam to John P's house. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

So where is the best place to cruise on Thursday nights? We're rolling into town next week, what's up on the 8th?
Hobart's Pub in Niles?
Steak & Shake at Randhurst Mall in Mt Prospect?
Crystal Lake?
The Dugout in Burbank?
Downtown Crete?
Frato's Eatery in Schaumberg?
Bel-Air Bob's house? Darren's garage?? Postsedan's shop???
We'll be staying in Bolingbrook if that makes any difference..first round of brewski's is on me!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Lou Malnatis, Ginos East, Giordanos. Get the deep dish only at these places. Home Run Inn is also supposed to be good but I have never been there.
