Wow, I thought you would keep this car forever! It's such a great looking car and in the right color too! So what's the new supercar gonna be if you're letting this one go? Man, I wish I had the resources to grab this car. Good luck with the sale.

Well, we already have an idea what an unrestored low-mileage one-owner car needing some attention can bring. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif Although, the cars are very different.

To answer the questions in this thread. First let me start by saying that I have had the most unbelievable memories with this car in the 2 years that I owned it. Going down the track at the SCR and meeting all of my friends here have been priceless. Seeing the look on peoples faces in my neighborhood or at a show when I tell them YES after they ask me "is it real?" All that I will never forget and the people that helped me get this car and were there with me to enjoy it I once again thank you.

Now for the REAL reason I am selling my baby. This is not some candy ass attempt to "test the market." I hope those that know me would know that unless I was really going to sell my car, I couldn't care less what the market would bring. The car is in fact for sale and IMO will be gone by the end of the week based on the feedback I have gotten. The reason that it is for sale (not that I need to justify my actions to anybody) is that instead of holding on to this car I need to improve the lives of my family. It is as simple as that. I wish that I could take the money and "upgrade" but real life priorities prohibit that. I will still be in the muscle car hobby but just with a more "reasonable car."

To address some of the questions of the auction. I apologize that I did not post the car for sale here but the reserve on the car is my business. I am sorry if anybody on the site feels slighted by this fact. I can also assure all of you that the bids on this car are in fact REAL and will be shared with the high bidder if reserve is met. They can feel free to contact each and every one of them. I have nothing to hide and again I am sure that those that know me can vouch for that. The two bid retractions were someone playing around and I asked them to remove their bids.

I hope this is enough for everybody and I would hope that even though I will most likely not own a Yenko car I could still remain in the group.

Frank, you are doing it for the right reason, family. No disgrace in that. Many of us did the same thing back in the day. Why do you think us old farts are paying so much $$$ for them now? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Good luck on the sale Frank...I know you are more concerned with the car getting a good new home than selling the car to just anyone...you have some good memories in the car, but I'm sure you also made some good memories for the car and the next owner....heck - you made this one famous...at Marlins expense of course http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif...I know the people on this site don't keep you around just cause you own a Yenko car (if that were the case I would have been gone years ago!)...us youngins' are the keeper of the flame especially after these babyboomers burnout http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Frank,
Sorry to hear that you are selling it but glad to hear that you are doing it for family betterment reasons and not to replace it with an **-*. Though that too was exciting, you will never regret doing it for the family. Take it from me, I know the cost of not taking care of the family.

Hi Frank, Certainly understand about improving the lives of your family. That's why our Deuce is for sale. We thought it would be much smarter to sell this car now and be able to help the boys when they really need it instead of waiting for them to inherit it. Sometimes it's just a matter of getting your priorities straight. NOTHING more important than family. Loads of luck. Linda and Earl

Smoke the tires one more time? Three words: Russ Dunmire Olds.
I think Frank's smart enough to know that if someone is willing to give you a big old check, that car is now theirs and you shouldn't beat on it anymore. That's when the fan blade/connecting rod bolt/whatever will decide to leave this world and leave you looking dumb (and poor after the deal sours). Just my 2 cents.....

The deal is finalized. I will not go into who the current owner is or what they paid for it out of respect for their privacy, but I can tell you that they are NOT a member of this or ANY other car web sites. All I can tell you is that the car sold for a WORLD RECORD PRICE. I am sure you will all see this car out and about soon enough. The bad part is that since it was a legit deal Uncle Sam is probably happier than I am at this point. He is gonna profit BIG TIME from this deal.

As far as how I feel.......not the best about the deal. Even with all this money now, I am at about a 3 on an excitement scale of 10. I had to do what I had to do I guess and now will take the steps to improving my life. The unfortunate part is because of how much this car sold for it will probably go out to pasture. The new owner said it himself. The glory days of 18 year olds that owned it in the past using it as a 10 second drag car or guys like me driving it through the streets of Chicago in bumper to bumper traffic are over. The exciting moments of the car screaming through the traps at Gateway International at the Supercar Reunions are now history. I will miss her.....

Thanks again to everybody that helped me and was there with me to enjoy the good times I had with my Yenko Deuce.

Frank, congrats! Hear in ended up somewhat in our neck of the woods, maybe we will run into it again sometime.

Should have known that the two time champion of the SCR Deuce shootout would raise the bar $$$ wise.

I guess now that the Deuce is gone you will be available to park cars and work the pits at the SCR, unless of course Annie or soemone else needs an experienced (and winning) driver. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
