Anyone out there feel like digging through your stash to see if you can find me a 9C dated 515 voltage regulator. If someone has a NOS one I have a NOS 9B that I could trade http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
Thanks in advance.

Re: The 515 subject, I have a resto question and opinion. The base plate appears to have been stamped from Galvanized Sheet Metal(??). I have used mild scothbrite, metal polish/with toothbrush to clean the base. Will anyone (not making there living at doing so) reveal secrets as to how these can best restored. I havent seen a PIRKLE 515, but curious if he actually dissasembles the guts and ZINC plates base or ?????

Thanks,

That is how I do mine Chuck and feel that without getting intimate with the part it is indistinquishable from an original. I use the Eastwood Zinc kit as opposed to having it commercially zinc plated as it looks more like the original. However, it is a lot of work but looks great when done.
