Not mine, just stumbled across the ad on Ebay. YS-044 by the tag on the door jamb. Don't know anything about it, or it's pedigree.

Thye are neat cars. They perform quite well, power and handling wise. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

How hard is a V8 small block transplant for one of these cars?
Something along the lines of a hi-po 350... LT1?

You'd be surprised at what a full race prep Stinger can do as far as top speed, handling and even 1/4 mile. They are true Super Cars.

I must have put a couple thousand miles on the Stage II I had. What a blast to drive.

Dan, pretty easy there are forums for them...had a guy over here with one that had a 70 LT-1 crate motor in it, posted pics last summer, somewhere here.

How big of a deal is it that this car does not have it's original engine? I realize it impacts the price...but how much? If the 5 year old resto was good what is an estimated market value on this car? Thanks.

I wouldn't put a V8 in one...it's not nearly as tidy as the flat 6, and adds weight, which is not what these Stinger Corvairs are about. Don't sneeze at those little 6-bangers...we had a Stage V Stinger that would rip your friggin' head off in a straight line or going through the curves...absolute *pucker* ride if there ever was one. Even in stock, or Stage 1 trim these little boogers are a blast...
