You're not looking hard enough then, Bobby! I'm onto my 2nd leaf spring Chevy! The first I had was a '71 Custom/10, 402/400TH w/leaf spring rear...like a moron I sold it dirt cheap to some distant kin that told me he was hard up for dependable transportation...he resold it for about double the money within a week! Currently I have a '72 Cheyenne Super 10, 402/400TH, with leaf spring rear...coincidently, both of my trucks have been medium poly green...

I'm not a buyer but for interest sake, do all "Camper Specials" come with the extended box....I don't mean long box, I'm referring to the additional 4"? extension piece at the front the box? . Kinda' weird if you've never seen one.

Rob, sorry to hear your kin-folk are 'flippers'?

I think the camper specials also have a special TH400. I believe that a camper special tranny was/is being utilized on a Pure Stock Nova http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Rob, this truck is a C-20 3/4 ton truck, the half tons ran leafs and the 3/4 Chevy 2wd rigs ran that silly coil spring, it was not bad with bags,I dont think I have ever seen a 2wd 3/4 '72 with leafs...not a expert but we have one in the family and we have had a few around

Hi; the Camper special does not have a longer bed. It has a tool Box in the bottom of the bed and a sliding rear step bumper to accomadate a camper body set in the bed. the trans is not any different as far as I know. I will take a shot of the options sticker. Thanks Jim

I think the trans uses the 6 bolt torque converter, among other things, similar to a CX or CW.

Bud: most of the 1/2 ton Chevys run the coils...leafs on a Chevy is a rare deal...for some odd reason though the better part of the GMCs have leafs?

The Longhorn had the longer bed.

That's it....the Longhorn! . What was the reason for this small extension....wasn't it to fit a camper? ~ Pete

my dad has a 72 C20 camper special,orange/white with a 350.
pulled a 5th wheel trailer and it worked like a champ, awesome trucks.
that's a fair price for a real(3/4 ton) truck.
